NPC's in galxies 7, 8, and 9
« on: March 08, 2012, 07:03:48 PM »
I used the search function and didn't find anything regarding this issue. It seems that every NPC that spawns in these galaxies has no fleet, no defenses, and varying amounts of resources. what gives? occasionally I will find one with millions of undefended resources which is nice, but these galaxies are virtually nothing but a bunch of farms anyway. DSP opportunities in this sector would be greatly appreciated.

NPC spawns are random. You're either finding Seekers, which have no ships, or you're finding them after they've already been attacked by other players.

Each and every race has zero defenses, even the large abandoned leviathans. The defenses on NPC's can't be reduced to nothing by players because they would disappear before the defenses get to that point. Please take a second look into this matter.

can we also look into just getting rid of galaxies 7,8, and 9 while we are at it?  ;)

Or perhaps a compression of this sector as it's a bit of a ghost town

Having 0 defenses on an Abandoned Leviathan is impossible. Are you sure you are getting a full espionage report?

Oh yes; I have espionage 14 and I send 8 probes. I have sent cargo ships at them that return unscathed every time.

Interesting espionage reports. Literally, the templates for the NPCs shouldn't allow them to spawn without ships or defenses. But this may be an issue with X1 because of its peculiar server setup. We'll look in to it ASAP!

Funny Matt's response that something is amiss on this as only couple of weeks ago I posted a similar thread and raised a ticket with BFG and got Justin's typical response that all is well, 8/9 of my planets are in 7&9 and so far I haven't found a Single NPC with defences or ships and have hit some big targets colossaul leviathans that have a millions of res but nothing else, would be interesting to see if BFG could allow members with planets in 7-9 to move to lower galaxies as at present their is a certainly something afoul in Denmark with the NPC's

@Matt H, has anything been looked into on this as this has been the case since day 1 of NPC's being unleashed on the universe I can probe the same type of NPC in G6 and it has defences and or ships to boot but upwards of G7 nothing now whilst the free res is great players in lower galaxies have an advantage in that they are able to score DSP from the NPC's with ships, also can you expand on what is different about the server setup in extreme to all the other universes.  Probably the simplest thing to do is allow either G7-G9 the option to relocate a couple of planets below G6 or compress G7-G9 and see if this fixes the problem as I believe it could be down to the formula for NPC's and with these galaxies being sparse may affect this formula.  thats just my couple of cents on this subject.
