I have made my tool public for those who has no tool themselves - feel free to help out by using the indexer script - and of course to use the tool.
http://web214510.ta53.talkactive.net/
Update:
new url for the tool - remove the old and go to - http://x2.lytjohan.net/ (http://x2.lytjohan.net/) - update the script from that location and remove the old one.
-
Just took a quick look at it.
I like it a lot.
One question though, after you install the script does it parse systems automatically during normal play or do you need to activate it like sfc stats?
-
If you install the script - when you go to a system it should display a green "OK" - remember to set it as execute first in GM script - to avoid it not parsing for you.
it will not index a system where you have any colonies or heph in. to avoid it picking up your own heph location all the time - no point in giving away yourself - just because you want to help out :)
-
Have I told you lately, that I love you?
:D
-
Has Lyt told you lately that if you use this, he'll always know where your Heph is? :D
(I wouldn't believe otherwise)
-
its the same for all that gets indexed - just giving people what you already have pirx ....
well, and public or not - i already have them - nothings changed or changes :)
-
Added a little link on the main page - to a page that shows which systems is getting old - older than 7 days that is. probably makes it easier to figure out - what to help index - if one likes to do that.
-
Bug report!
It's parsing my X1 as well :(
-
Lyt,
THANK YOU for sharing this with everyone as I checked it out yesterday and it works awesome.
cheers,
pn
-
Is this gonna be an open source project or is it all your work Lyt? I'd like to see somebody help you because this is awesome!!!!
-
its a bit mixed - the base is mine - but quinn made modifications to my base version - parts of which i have included in this.
darth brunus - made the base code for the GM part - which quinn and i have added and modified on ( this might have to be rewritten - trying to get pengy in on it ( he doesnt know yet - but life is hard ;) ))
i prefer this version to be worked on by me (unless people convince me otherwise) - but i dont mind sharing code base - have done so before - but it was pretty tied in to mssql server - and earlier on - very complex because of service calls - but for the most part - that has been resolved.
its based on c# - so if people want to look at it - they can of course.

are you sure??
the gm script i use has -
// @include http://uni2.playstarfleetextreme.com/* (http://uni2.playstarfleetextreme.com/*)
shouldnt interfere with x1...
-
Yup...it is for sure. It looks like it's doing Mafia Boss too. Just search for Boss 5419485 and you will see.

sorry - true - its there - do you mind - trying the new script? - pasted it in the first post in the thread... and see if it still does it?
are you using chrome?
did you mess with "// @include http://uni2.playstarfleetextreme.com/* (http://uni2.playstarfleetextreme.com/*)" ?
-
New script fixed it, yay!
Yes I am a chrome user, I didn't tweak the script at all. Figured I'd mention it to you first.
Thanks a lot for sharing this :D

great - should also work quite a bit faster now.

Been playing with this tool for the last couple of days, and it looks great.
Getting an error now.
Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.
Is the service withdrawn or is this a temporary error?

No - you just need to update to the new place - look at first post in thread.
edit: http://x2.lytjohan.net (http://x2.lytjohan.net) - is the new url - for those not going back to the first post. - removed the old host. ( remember to use the script from the new host too - the old wont work anymore )

CHEATERS.

Just noticed the name link from the Galaxy page, might have been there before, but nice.
Can I ask what the colour coded number scales means?

its a sort of tracking - gets more accurate over time and number of indexes.
1.00 ( green ) = always unstarred or no min counter
5.00 ( orange ) = always min counter
10.00 ( red ) = always starred
number in between is variations.
-
So this picture says my planet has been looked at 13 times and has been * each time?
I have only seen one colour per planet, will we see 2 colours if there is a mix of activity counters?
-

no - it says at between gametime 13-14 it has always been * compared to amount of parses.
i havent added - how many times its been parsed - i will add that.
-
Added heph tracker - activated - but not shown yet - need more data - before it becomes valuable - will add a button under each person - to show location by date.
-
Added heph history tracker - and changed some stuff - to make it nicer to look at
-
Added an inline colony listing - shows up as a ? out beside buddy icon.

Yay, I wasn't sure if the time tracker would have hung in there! I wish I had access to the old thread with plans for that :(
Keep up the good work Lyt, and thanks :)

iam probably going to work on something that will make it so - that you only gain access to it - if you use the parser - i know it was ment to be free for all - but people have requested it - and its still free - as long you help :)
its still in the works - so would appricate comments on that one.
no login required though ( no extra work - except from having the parser activated )

I like the concept, but what about people who normally use the parser, but play from their phone a lot too. Do they then only have access when they are home?
-
I think to take advantage of this public tool you should be contributing at the moment to make use of it.
-
Love to see this in U1
-
updated parser script - it should now be quite a bit faster.
-
updated parser script - it should now be quite a bit faster.
ahh yes, much quicker.
-
installed the parser. greasemonkey on. restarted browser. no access... is what it says.
maybe thats a personal thing
-
added a bit of security - which means you need to use the parser script to be able to search. ( galaxy screen )
mobile devices - are for now - allowed to search though.
:)
-
No access...
Using the parser script located - here - will grant you access to the galaxy tool
thats from clicking the name on the galaxy page. i even get the green ok

what browser are you using ? and are you using fb access or ? ( will not work that way )
i tested it in FF and Chrome - works for me - but probably nice if more people try it out.
-
firefox, maybe since i have an older version?
-
I am having the same problem in firefox, not through facebook.
-
hmmm... you have it as execute first - and it still wont allow you into the site - if you click from galaxy screen?
iam beginning to think its me... wtf :P
-
if you get access denied - check your firefox - options.
[attachment=0:4pxt7yo2]exception.jpg[/attachment:4pxt7yo2]
-
funny thing about this is, on the BFG game Mafia Boss, the ? symbol is there and when you press over it, it gives you the locations for X2 planets
-
I got the access denied thing too.
Fixed it by uninstalling then re-installing it.

fixed.
-
got page not found
-
update your scripts - remove and reinstall - if you have any troubles.
the page will give you access if you use the galaxy page with parser enabled.
if you for some reason cannot get access even when clicking on the player link from within the game - you probably either need to look at cookie permissions or update your browser to a current one.
-
i have the new v of firefox
what do i do with the script. be for it just opend up . now i just get the script confused
-
ok - little intro. :)
#1 Download a current version of either FF + GreaseMonkey or chrome.
#2 Go to http://x2.lytjohan.net (http://x2.lytjohan.net) - it will say access denied ( most probably )
#3 Click on the parser script link - should either go to a code page - where there is an install button - or popup an install box. ( remember to add it as execute first - to avoid wierd update stuff - depending on what you have installed beside this one )
#4 Go to your galaxy page and check if it displays an "// X2: OK"
if it does - you can now click on a player name - and get inside at http://x2.lytjohan.net (http://x2.lytjohan.net)
#5 If you are on the search page - you can do a "new search" which will bring you to the main page - where you can also download an Inline script - to get info from with in the game ( galaxy page - will show up as a "?" beside the buddy icon"
if it doesnt - you should look at your cookie permissions - which is talked about earlier on in this thread.
Hope it works for you guys :)
-
Everything seems to work correctly for me Lyt. Nice work!
-
ya thats the thing i do not get this
where there is an install button - or popup an install box
i just get the script but no install option

new update... ( important )
remove the old one - and get this one.
http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_X2_v5.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_X2_v5.user.js) (1.5.2)
a new version of the inline colony lister is at http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/s ... ne.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_x2_v5_inline.user.js) (1.3.2)
make sure - inline script runs before the parser.
-
remove your old scripts and get this one - static version - all script included - no extra script will be loaded from my host.
http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_X2_v5.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_X2_v5.user.js) (1.5.3) - includes the inline colony lister as well.
-
Added 2 things.
Shared Groups and ESPY addon for Shared Groups.
remove old x2 scripts... then get:
http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/sfc_X2_v5.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/sfc_X2_v5.user.js)
http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/s ... up.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/sfc_X2_v5_group.user.js) - Shared Groups
http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/s ... py.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/sfc_X2_v5_AddonEspy.user.js) - ESPY addon for Shared Groups
remember to restart browser.
Go to options - under "Create sharing groups ( BANG! Galaxy tool )"
#1 use Add Group.
#2 put in a name.
#3 Click on "generate from name" - it will make the key harder to guess.
#4 Click save
#5 Share the key with group of people you want to share espy's with. ( they themselves - Add Group - but instead of creating a new one - they put in yours ) - and save it.
Repeat for any number of groups or alliances you want to share with.
Under any given espy report - you will now have an option - to "Send to group:" ( depending on how many groups you are part of )
Then under any given person - you click on the ? - and you will get an espy version of each group ( if they contain the player colony )
Hope its understandable :)
-
Another thing for the group / espy setup..
http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/s ... ns.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_X2_v5_AddonEspy_Notifications.user.js)
gives you notifications of the last 10 espy's send to group by any member of the group ( including yourself ... hm hm ) - works from galaxy page.
-
updated these.
http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/s ... up.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_X2_v5_group.user.js) (v 1.4)
http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/s ... ns.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_X2_v5_AddonEspy_Notifications.user.js) (v 1.3)
-
added ability under options - to see all espy reports uploaded to a given group
http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/s ... up.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/x2staticscript/sfc_X2_v5_group.user.js) ( contained in v. 1.4 )
Update this one - if you experience lag in the galaxy screen using it.
http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/s ... ns.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/sfc_x2_v5_AddonEspy_Notifications.user.js) ( v 1.3.1 )
-
you have a lot of stuff going on here... I wont lie, I am kind of confused
-
you have a lot of stuff going on here... I wont lie, I am kind of confused
You can use only the parser part - which makes it not so much confusing - the rest is just additions - for espy sharing and notifications about it.
tried explaining here:
viewtopic.php?f=10&p=177187#p177187 (http://forum.playstarfleet.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&p=177187#p177187)
-
the post issue - is fixed now - no update required.
-
1.5.5 update.
http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/sfc_X2_v5.user.js (http://x2.lytjohan.net/X2StaticScript/sfc_X2_v5.user.js)
Should keep the script from blocking - if server needs to recycle.
edit: if you already got it - reget it - 1.5.6 update - it will now show an "update required" in the OK field - when there is a new version.
-
BFG just mucked things up for the script... it's down again...
-
BFG just mucked things up for the script... it's down again...
and up ;)
-
You're great man... keep up the excellent work :D
-
Changed some stuff - concerning the 'post' issue - you should all be able to open in new tab or ctrl click the links as per usual again.
if some links doesnt work like normal - just msg me :)
-
Made a very short introduction to the tool - and how to get it working - hope its fine :)
http://x2.lytjohan.net/Intro.aspx (http://x2.lytjohan.net/Intro.aspx)
-
is anyone elses ? symbol on the galaxy page working ?
-
Yep, working fine for me.
-
Thank you. az :!:
-
if you use the tool with chrome - please delete the script and redownload it from http://x2.lytjohan.net (http://x2.lytjohan.net) - when you get an "update required" message - chrome isnt happy ... not sure why - working on it :)
-
i use chrome, on the extension page, is this the name of the script ? sfc_X2_v5.user.js - Version: 1.0
-
i use chrome, on the extension page, is this the name of the script ? sfc_X2_v5.user.js - Version: 1.0
yea - not sure why it insists on being a v1.0 - something isnt right - but i cant see what the trouble is atm - working on making that work too ... :)
-
You can usually also just delete your cache before updating in chrome without having to remove the old one (unless version # stays the same, like with this, then its a tossup). In that case its best to do both to ensure the update works :)
I've got another idea Johan, i'll send it in a few minutes
-
how do you delete cache ?
-
in chrome, go to wrench -> options -> under the hood -> clear browsing data -> empty the cache
-
cool thanks
-
for now - the new galaxy layout isnt supported :)
-
update - status picked up again - should fix the latest heph issues
-
Nothing is working again as of today for me!!
-
Your not the only one, Im sure Lyt is working on it
I use Chrome, they probably updated something and he has to make some changes to the script
-
Actually... Lytjohan is no longer hosting the program...
He did however, say that he was giving it to someone else to host... so I really hope that whomever it is, come on here and lets us know when they get it working again. :)
-
Just saw that thread, i was a bit behind.
Huge loss, not sure what to do now or how fun the game will even be without it
-
We have discussed some ideas internally for a galaxy parser as part of the game. However, nothing is set in stone yet.
-
Thats cool Matt
Ive been bopping around the different galaxies for years, and alwas enjoyed the game
and launching attacks just to waste hydro, time, and hitting the recall button just isnt fun, ruins the game we all love so much
-

Seriously?!?
You're not yanking our chains???
Dude, if BFG had a public search database for coords and other info (like the one that Ogame has), it would be the greatest addition to the game yet!!!
BTW... since you guys are at least talking about it ... here's a link to Ogame's search page... it might give you guys some ideas because it has alot of cool features, including a weekly stat tracker:
http://ogame.gamestats.org/?lang=org
You can look up players or alliances, and even compare statistics - I hope you'll take a look at it, and share with the big cheeses, it's a great tool for Ogame, and a similar tool for BFG would be AWESOME!
-
If BFG creates it's own Parser I think a lot of players will possibly love BFG forever. LOL.
Really hope your not yanking our chains Matt H.
-
It's still in the discussion stages but we are talking about it.
-
Hope it goes better than other discussions.
-

Want to bet it'll be credit based? Want to bet there will be no non-credit way to balance against its use? >:(
I'm taking lessons from Morat. This is were I'd insert a raspberry smiley face if they had one.
-
You kidding? We're discussing it is french for "we talked about while clocking out and decided we don't care"
-
:P
-
While I appreciate that a recent decision from Blue Frog Gaming has soured some forum users attitudes, their posts are not representative of what actually occurs internally at Blue Frog Gaming.
One of our ideas was to use a new building or tech to allow a player to scan someone within so many systems of them to find out where the players other planets are.
-
OH!!! A building that has to be build up just like an oracle!!! - but on the planet, not the moon...!!
I could definitely go with that...
Of course, that stat tracker website for ogame is a great idea too...
Not that I should get my hopes up... but...
Matt, if you haven't checked it out, please,... I really encourage you to check it out... the features that it supports for Ogame, is the reason why I stopped playing SFC in the first place before X2 came out... Play with a few of the features on it, and you'll really see why it's such a great tool for their game...
I'm certain that you would see the benefits that it could add to SFC, if you just played around with it for just a few minutes.

What ever happened to off topic comments being a no-no? Seriously .. what were you thinking.. that I had a camera hidden above the time clock? (For clarification - that was an attempt at humor) :)
Soured attitudes? ( and you referenced this, not me, so I am responding) No .. you (BFG) slapped a fair sampling of 90% of your CUSTOMERS (and you guys really should get that right, we either pay your bills, or click on little things that do, and I for one want the respect a customer is due) in the face. Now you want what ... roses and a bottle of bubbly? Oh, and we're STILL waiting for the "why" in that other place, as several have asked, only to receive NO COMMENT at all. As to what BFG does internally..... who knows. Olympus is a long trip and I don't have the time or patience to make that trek.
My comment was an ON TOPIC response ( in a HUMOROUS MANNER) to my belief that talk is as far as that idea will go, not because you chose to totally disregard your customers on other topics, but that all the discussions seem to end in the same place, nowhere. New ships - nowhere, new features - nowhere, player panel - nowhere, new techs - nowhere... my statement is historically accurate. I would LOVE to see you add anything of value and stability, and will gladly post what a wonderful thing it is the day I see it, but I judge the future by the past, and give people or companies my blind trust and faith until they abuse it, so now for BFG ... seeing is believing, SHOW ME THE MONEY!

Is it true BFG has something to do with MENTAT that xXx uses? right now they have a huge advantage over us all
-
We do not have anything to do with Mentat. It is developed independently by a player just like Bang was.

I can understand why you might consider it soured attitude from your perspective, Matt. I consider it reasonable conjecture based Blue Frog Gaming's recent history of external actions. I have no opinion regarding what actually occurs internally within BFG. One can not form a reasonable opinion without information.
In addtion, from your perspective locking the http://forum.playstarfleet.com/index.php?topic=15100.195 thread was a process of moderation, from mine it was done to end the discussion and potential protest.
