Title: As your rank grow, so does your hydro cost and the returns diminish
Post by: R.T.M. on November 18, 2013, 10:48:49 PM
R.T.M. led an attack on Krug at Large Enemy Fleet ‎‎‎[3:200:11].
The following emerged from battle after 4 Round(s)

*****Attacker: R.T.M. with 15,000,000,000 RSP involved (initial fleet RSP) *****
Prometheus : 119637 (Lost: 363 of 120000)
** Resources lost: 21,780,000 ore, 18,150,000 crystal, and 5,445,000 hydrogen.
** Destroyed Ship Points Gained: 1,371,013

*****Defender: Krug with 2,742,026,000 RSP involved (initial fleet RSP) *****
Artemis : 0 (Lost: 14111 of 14111)
Atlas : 0 (Lost: 35492 of 35492)
Apollo : 0 (Lost: 1528 of 1528)
Zagreus : 0 (Lost: 5834 of 5834)
Hercules : 0 (Lost: 12475 of 12475)
Dionysus : 0 (Lost: 18318 of 18318)
Poseidon : 0 (Lost: 2186 of 2186)
Carmanor : 0 (Lost: 3502 of 3502)
Athena : 0 (Lost: 14345 of 14345)
Ares : 0 (Lost: 2538 of 2538)
Hades : 0 (Lost: 2516 of 2516)
Prometheus : 0 (Lost: 2770 of 2770)
Zeus : 0 (Lost: 16 of 16)
** Ship Resources lost: 1,610,546,000 ore, 951,278,000 crystal, and 180,202,000 hydrogen.
** Total Resources lost: 1,610,546,000 ore, 951,278,000 crystal, and 180,202,000 hydrogen.
** Destroyed Ship Points Gained: 45,375

After 4 rounds of combat: The attacking side acquired 7,040,792 ore, 19,952,563 crystal, and 13,162,480 hydrogen.
489,697,800 ore and 290,843,400 crystal are now floating at this location.

hydro cost for strike was 90M
plus hydro cost for 363 prom replacements .....

( a week ago, I only needed 60,000 proms for similar dsp target
  two weeks ago 50,000 proms ... )

I thought the goal was to blow ships up and grow
but it looks like you grow and then have to shift to far smaller targets to break even if at all possible

this is the new normal for BFG

I thought the goal was to blow ships up and grow

The goal is and has always been to blow up other players’ ships.  NPCs help with growth, but they are supposed become less profitable as you progress.

understood but with people leaving by the dozens on a daily basis,
finding active people is getting harder and harder.

Could you show the ships please?  That said, you acquired more than enough to rebuild that Zeus.

YUP the npc's are crazy again. I think it is BFG's way of getting us to leave this uni and go play in another one or the new one that way they can shut it down and have no problems. Who on earth wants to hit an npc like that for only 1M dsp.. i mean seriously. A few weeks back i was hitting npc for 12 to 15M dsp using only my proms... now i can barely hit one for 3M dsp with proms... but of course nothing has changed... yeah right!!!

Heh.  If kru sees this, he will probably say that what I'm about to say is a misreading of the psych literature, but I'm going to say it anyway:  if something is consistently rewarding, it gets boring.  The NPCs get better and worse in order to maintain interest.

The NPC's are fine every now and then they seem to have a day off like all of us.

Of course with lots of ships you need lots of hydro all my attacks are profitable when things even out like being beaten to the target it's all still profit.

Of course this always means profit for BFG as you need to merch for all that hydro.

I still dont see how that above looks fine?????? Who wants to hit for 3M dsp with little profit and go through all that defense. We dont all have millions of zeus or a ton of fodder.. alot of us still hit with proms and bombers.. i know i do. I have a zeus fleet... not a million but it's half decent... 4 hours there 4 hours back.... LOOOOOONG time to wait for a few million dsp and and little to no profits!!

I don't know why you would hit any of the npc that are listed above. Profitable maybe, but not enough for me.  On the same hand you can always find a better target than any of the ones above.   I probe 40-50 npc's to find at least enough for one attack run.  Some times I find one big one and some times I find multiple ones.  My point is if I came across one of these npc's I would delete and move on to the next one.  There are always more non profitable Npc's than there are profitable ones.

last week targets of this size - 100M DSP
required 1,000,000 Z's to win
this one requires 4,000,000 Z's to win

as near as i can figure out BFG's cycle is
1 week of total crap
1 week of below average crap
1 week of average targets
1 week of "good" but not great targets

so if we follow their lead we should take 2 to 3 weeks off each month

here is today's version of BFG "nothing has changed"

is there anyone in the entire universe actually could actually win this ( or group of people )  ???

and if they could, would anyone be willing to do so for only this pitance of a DSP anount ?

another example of BFG going totally stupid.

Its not just in X2. I had one (zerotech) the other day that I couldnt kill even with the kitchen sink added. I hit it anyway, due to the low losses even in 6 rounds and came away with a tidy profit. There were still enough ships remaining to warrant a second run, however it expired before the fleet got back. BTW, I have one of the largest fleets in SFCO, so I have no idea who the dang thing spawned from.
In the example shown above, I could easily turn a profit on it big enough to consider an attack. It would take a ton of posies and ares, but could be done.

I to have seen several of the NPC that have thousands of decoy's one them.  They are not just on zero teck ones either.  So far I have seen this happen in 3 different universes.

But i repeat bfg doesnt have anything to do with the npcs changing so much... boris must have broke the game and started building a couple 100k decoys since the npcs are generated from player builds  ::)

i just let the hydro eating fleet go and i am using only cargo/dio/zues now i save tons of hydro and almost no losses.

even if i miss a few no great loss
