Pretty sure I know this game as well if not better than you as demonstrated by my post. Please read before you flame, and come look for me in XUni2.

obviously you don't as your post is full of fail.  almost all players that equal to each other have the same warp level.  They also have a pretty good idea on the fleet numbers of those around them.  Even if they are slightly bigger than you, you still get a jump on them using speed boost and you can use your entire fleet to attack the heph while they cant' defend it with proms and ares

ok if you are exposing yourself for a return lock then that means you are doing it wrong.
risk vs rewards

if i am attacking your heph and you try to hop then either my fast wave bounces i recall the prom wave or i have already destroyed your fleet and your heph dies or moves before the prom wave. it is the same principal of harvesting from your heph, you do a drop colony otherwise nobody feels sorry for you.
and just in case you don't get the timing fast wave with fodder figure 16 mins and proms are about 4 mins behind a recall subtracts 8 mins which means that my whole fleet returns at the same time. if your fleet is enough to take out mine on the heph i shouldn't of been launching at you in the first place.

you are thinking heph vs heph but this mostly impacts hephs attacking planets/moons.  heph launches at moon and both players have same warp levels.  target hides out on ghost planet with his big fleet and lets his moon get hit.  Target then buys speed boost commander, warp his fleet in, then launches at defenseless heph.

-this will force all hunters to purchase speed boost dude to stay safe
-this will force all hunters, except for the very few top accounts, to go after much weaker targets.  No way in hell will I go after someone close to me in fleet size and warp level now

All this will do is make the bigger players focus more on the very weak players to help minimize risk.  Targets weak enough to where we don't have to attack them with our full fleet and/or targets with multiple speed levels lower than us.

The speed boost is complete crap.  Difference between warp 12 and 13 for proms, same system/1 planet away is 1:12.  More than enough time to jump, buy the commander, then launch.

Doubt I will be playing much longer if this stays in.

most of the time, the low rankers come with the same tired jokes that we have all seen over and over and over.  I usually just ignore them and move on

-either brag about how good they fleet save
-try to bribe us to take out an enemy that they have
-send us some stupid message "beep - hello, our fleet is not here but if you leave a message, we'll get back to you"

Reading all of this makes me feel like I'm at the beach and look down at the sand and see a few ants arguing.  So insignificant as to not give it a 2nd thought.

I've heard random stories such as this but I have never had my heph showing up early personally
