AA's combined brainstorming (as a few of us aren't welcome on the forum)

enhance the alliance interactions by allowing the sharing of oracles and warp gates among alliance members

choose which ships fire at which ships – for example, use the poseidons to fire at arts and not at athenas -  like in a real battle. Create a new research to have increase targeting capabilities

make the galaxy wrap around so that systems 499 to 1 are adjoining and same for G1 and G5

Increase the LB to 4 or 5 fields, to speed up moon builds

have some preset planets in each system, of various fields sizes, so players can chose to colonize an empty slot or take over an existing planet. Maybe a new research to develop capabilities for colonizing existing planets. What’s the point of planets with fewer than 100 fields anyway?

an alliance trading bank where players can deposit and convert resources. I.e. Players joins the alliance bank by depositing certain resource into the alliance community bank as seed resources. Later the player can trade with the bank's resources with other resources, ratio could be higher than Trader. Users can only trade with resources that the bank has on hand. This is more restricted than resource trader, but would allow alliance members to trade resources within alliances.

add droids to the moons to cut build times

Eradeon 2 was very balanced, but would benefit by increase mine production, as it’s hard to do upper level researches. In order to keep it interesting, speed up all production, and cut research time to no more than 1 week max.

I prefer p mode to fleetsaving as I have a life outside the game. Works great. Keep it

longevity bonus - awarded in phases; quarterly to active players (non-p or v mode players), Semi-annual to p mode players, and annual to players that have sent more time in v than not (in hope to get them more active again).

dominance bonus - awarded monthly to active players for hits on active players.

IDEAS to help players who have been hit

allow the alliance trading bank to lend/donate resources to an alliance player that has lost his fleet

If you lose your fleet, 1/3 is rebuilt in 24 hours, similar to how defenses rebuild.

fleet repair (instead of loss) - once you build a fleet it is yours. If you get hit and lose your fleet it will cost you the same amount of resources that your fleet added to the DF created to repair it. I think this may help resolve the pulling/pushing issue that happens in each Uni. Or just at the end of a battle, losses require spending resources to repair some surviving ships. This could apply to both winners and losers

Instead of the transport resources option make it a help option. For each player that helps another player it reduces the build / research / repair times to a specific task (at 1 or 2 % per player helping reduction time, capped at 10 or 15 player helping). Also each type of task can run concurrent with another (Build / Research / Repair) thus cutting down on recovery times and getting a player back into the fight sooner.

For the player that has lost the battle, (NOT the winner) create an option on his battle report to borrow (from the game, not the alliance bank) the resources lost to rebuild his fleet to the exact same strength, meaning that he will have negative resources till his mines/plunder repay the loan.  To avoid pushing using this feature, a player that is in the negative (i.e. lost the fleet and repaying the loan), does not have this option if he loses his fleet.

if you lose a fleet your mine outputs increase say by 50% for a certain amount of time directly proportional to the fleet RSP lost but like noobie protection doesn't kick in till you a certain amount of fleet is lost. For example, if 15k RSP is lost, then mine production goes up for 72 hours and your ship production increases by 25% for that same period of time. Just making up figures.

A minor change that should be easy to implement, all unis with the quests:

The Fodder for Food quest already rotates among ship types.

Make the Turtle Soup quest rotate among different defense types, not just Missile Batteries.

A lot of the features of Eradeon 2 are good. The way the NPCs don't give resources or make debris returns the game to a more 'old school' format, focused on building mines - that's good.

What I wish most is a way for players who have been hit bad to be motivated to rebuild and continue playing. How to do this without encouraging pushing is hard, and I don't know a good mechanic. Maybe capped NPCs with resources, available only to those with a certain fleet size.

I don't object to paying modest amounts for a well designed game. I don't much like P mode though I know it's a big money-maker for BFG.

I hope BFG will devote significant resources to advertising to bring in new players.

It was a moon destruction remember (I don't know what % chance it was of success tho)!
It was 100% chance.

For those of you who follow this with bated breath, there is no evidence that Andy's issue was related to a bug. Kink had clear evidence of a bug or other tampering with his account, hence his fleet was returned. Andy has not asked for his back, to the best of my knowledge. It was a fair hit.

This thread started off with a battle report which broke the rules. Why remove other posts which break BR rules?

The complete individual fleets of all attackers and defenders both before and after the battle [Final State] must be shown.

Threads that do not follow these rules will be deleted.

I had a very specific point in mind, and should not have been so subtle. No fleets are shown in the BR here. I know some players like to be coy about their fleet makeup, but the reason for battle reports is partly to TEACH, not just to GLOAT. For example, we could have some actual evidence as to whether The Bully's arts are effective, or whether he's living in the past.

As for congrats, sure, you caught him napping, that's fine. The makeup of your attack team speaks volumes. I do not offer congrats on that. And you know why.

No you just let AA defeat itself. Once one of the, if not the, most respected alliances. Now reviled and a joke. And they did it to themselves.

Only in your wishful thinking... I guess we can let the leaderboard speak for us then.

There are other ways to defeat AA, it HAS been done. You should not brag about something that you cannot hold up completely.

Sure we lose battles. But that doesn't 'beat us' - it's the difference between a battle and a war.

Great to have you back Bodge, btw.

Battle Report Rules
« on: April 18, 2010, 08:07:58 PM »
When creating a battle report thread please follow the following formatting.

Please include this at the very top of the post above any discussion that may be included:

Attacker1[Alliance], Attacker2[Alliance] vs. Defender1[Alliance], Defender2[Alliance]... ect.

When posting a Battle Report, you must include:
The ingame names of all attackers and defenders.
Combat techs must either be given for both attackers and defenders or none at all [Only possible with converted battle reports].
The complete individual fleets of all attackers and defenders both before and after the battle [Final State] must be shown.
The resources captured and the debris field generated even if all are zero.
For both battles with more than 1 wave, the follow up waves can be shortened to just the resources captured and the debris field created.

When posting an IBM assault, you must include:
The ingame names of all attackers and defenders.
An espionage report before any IBMs had been fired and one after all IBMs have struck.
If you are the defender, you may post the IBM reports.
The total number of IBMs fired, who fired them, and their total cost.
The total damage done to the defender.

Some guidelines for battle report threads:
NO coordinates are to be posted under any circumstance.
Comments in threads are to remain constructive and on topic.
Comments in threads should not contain unrelated battle reports.

Threads that do not follow these rules will be deleted.

It's always great to see people adding new skills. Twice in one day for The Bully:

I hit lugo (of FROZEN) in system with me, then I noticed a return (of 729 athenas) from a NPC and sent more ships to hit that. I was watching it, with the intent to slow my attack and lock them... when I tried to do so, i could not see the formation link on the fleet screen.
I look planet there.

Apparently Frozen is promoting this winning tactic. How can you say nobody cares, Phil, when people are obviously listening and learning?

N.B. You can't beat us by killing the fleet of "The Bully." The only way - proven twice - is to simply delete your planet or moon that we have a fleet locked at.

I can't put this in Battle Reports, because, like another similar recent incident, no battle actually occurred.

Ton up was attacking a planet some 80 systems away. His target actually went p mode during his attack but he let it land anyway. Andy locked his 839 hades and 50 posies, returning to his moon. A group attack was set up, involving a few hades and athenas.

I won't quote Ton up's pms because they may not meet game standards, but they were amusing.

In the end he fulfilled his threat of deleting his moon rather than letting us have his ships. He had LB 5 and Oracle 6 there. It cost him a few rank points but he won, no question.

It will be interesting to see if he rage quits like the last player that won this way.

I wasn't actually thinking of that type of equipment, Bodge.

Hmm, 2 pages and still nobody has raised the obvious question... Why didn't FROZEN attempt to lock Andy back to make him recall his lock on Stoke me?

I guess because the answer is also obvious. Lack of equipment.
