One thing to say to you before you launch a another uni. Take it on board and smack yourselves over the head with it, Though I doubt it will get through because you just cant get through to some people.

NPCs are a cool idea but they should serve only as a means for kickstarting the game or giving newcomers a leg up at the start. They should never grow with players and serve as an end in themselves.

Launch another uni
put npcs in it (normal ones, not stupid wormhole conquest ones)
cap said NPCs at a fix

now players can get into the game quicker without the uni developing into levels of stupidity
Now late comers can get into the game without teh uni being ran away with
Now the uni is competitive at all levels no matter when you join

Free advice from someone who cares about the game
Happy to help

Feature Suggestions / Galaxy Gateway

Galaxy Gateway

I daren't use the W word for its negative connotations in a certain universe so I'm suggesting a 'Galaxy Gateway', or, whichever name you prefer.

they spawn randomly with an entrance and exit at two arbitrary points in the space-time continuum and are associated with NPC races.

They function by allowing players perform intergalactic missions at the same speed/hydro cost of the equivalent distance between entry point and origin of launch. For example, you are two systems away from a GG in G1 which tunnels to G5 with a NPC 3 systems away from its exit. You can launch the intergalactic attack  from your G1 origin at the G5 npc via the gateway and the speed/hydro consumptions ammounts to the two G1 systems plus the 3 G5 systems.

wider range for intergalactic hunting, bringing a added dimension to MACing and HEPing
able to perform intergalactic colonisations at reduced time/hydro costs
No need for warp gates so moons can be removed from the game

built in draw backs
time expiry - any ships which fail to return in time for the GG expiry/collapse are lost in space
any ship which fails to reach the entry point in time will bounce and return to origin

This is an idea in development so before I waste any more brain cells on it, I would like to know whether or not this is something BFG would consider

General Starfleet Discussion / Who has the highest lab levels in each uni?

Who has the highest lab levels in each uni?

original -
uni 2 -

ex 1 -
ex 2 -

Nova -
Guns -

eradeon 1 -
eradeon 2 -
eradeon 3 -

Anyway... where I come from there is an old saying...

'before moving forward, sometimes it is necessary to go back to basics' - author unknown

In light of that excellent piece of wisdom, whoever came up with it, who in here would be in favour of consolidating a few unis? Obvious unis which could be merged are the original (uni1 &2) and extreme unis (ex1 & ex2). The others would require some form of compromise for which I propose a one way option to relocate with a percent equivalent development level . Conquest is obviously broken so y my suggestion would be an exit only from that uni into one of the other unis.

Another idea is to create some form of uni jumping function, like a worm hole which a player could use to enter into one of the other unis. Obviously the level of development and ships differ between some of them so anyone who enter a worm hole would pop out of the other end with an equivalent level of development in order to maintain the balance.

Is David Cameron's political career over? Personally, I don't see how he can continue as Prime Minister of the UK whilst being a laughing stock on the world stage. I can see it now... Putin holding up a peppa pig baloon with a cheeky smirk on his face in response to Davey taking a hard line on Russia

E3 has launched and died and still no section for it on the forum. Tell us, Matt. If you cant be bothered to even create a section for a new uni on the forum, then why should any of us bother playing it?

Feature Suggestions / token system
« on: July 13, 2015, 03:19:51 PM »
I am sure there will be a few trolls and fake egos at the ready to shoot this down before it gets anywhere, but whatever, lol here it is, BFG can take it on board and implement it or not, but I must point out that it works fabulously well in another game that I am playing and I see no reason why it cant work well here, too.

Rather than purchasing credits, players purchase tokens to use for the enhancement and convenience of their game, buying commanders and P-moders and whatever. The lucky draw is scrapped because it is useless beyond the first few days of a uni and is replaced with a daily token for logging in.

Before any of the useful idiots say it will affect their finances, no, it wont, because people still buy their need for speed and I'm talking the price of a trade merc or a p-mode taking a few days worth of tokens to save which are much easier to buy for those who use them regularly and want them instantly, but still handy to save up as a daily log in reward. BFG can work out the balance themselves if they want to consider it.

if ever we are going to see any of those new ships in any future unis? If not why not?

allow them to capture droids in an attack. Likewise, you could add a new building (regeneration chamber or whatever) to preserve  them in the event of an attack, which they would have to come out of the mines to be put into in order to avoid capture.

General Starfleet Discussion / launch date of the next uni
« on: May 21, 2015, 08:21:11 PM »
Looking for a few opinions/preferences here to see if there is any kind of consensus with respect to ideal launch dates and whether or not BFG are willing to work with the general preferences of the community or instead maintain their dictatorial approach. Personally, I was looking forward to eradeon 2 from December up until around March, when the weather began to turn. I lost interest by that time because I am a summer child and prefer to play outside when the weather is nice. Consequently, I was unable to take any meaningful part in what theoretically had the potential to be a close to ideal uni. In light of that, I would have preferred holding off the launch of eradeon 2 until the end of the summer so that I could have enjoyed playing it over the winter months. It is what it is and what is done is done. However, going forward, if there were any kind of compromise with BFG on lauch dates and they were happy to work with the general consensus, what would be an ideal launch date, for a new uni, in your opinion?

I would suggest one uni per year with two potential launch dates of either September or January... with September being my preferred choice. Launching anything after January is a mistake in my opinion.

What is a sufficient starting fleet for a new player in this uni?

Also, what buildings are recommended?
