Feature Suggestions / pee markers
« on: October 30, 2014, 12:00:38 PM »
As I sit here this morning waiting for an attack fleet to get back so I can enter pee mode for the day; I got to thinking. That is a dangerous concept at the best of times, but I came up with an idea that will add to the BFG coffers as well as bring joy to those of us who use pee markers. It also may entice a few new users who ordinarily wouldn't cough up the few pesos it takes to use one. (thats where the additional funds for BFG would come from.)

While in pee mode, your mine production doubles.

Feature Suggestions / p markers
« on: October 19, 2014, 09:56:37 AM »
For those of us that regularly use p-markers; it would be nice if we could multi-purchase them in one shot when stocking up. Its no biggie, but would save a bit of time. Of course, a small discount on multiple purchases would be an extra dollup of whipped cream on the pumpkin pie, but I dont see that happening.

General Starfleet Discussion / sale
« on: March 27, 2014, 02:02:30 PM »
Hey Matt, I know other people have been asking; both you and Jason, but so far we havent been given any answer (other than: "I will look into it") about whether there will be a return to the occasional sale. It seems to me its been a long time, and I sort of remember there were quite a few back in the day. Some were even very useful.
Is it a problem of the sale items reducing overall income? I think if the right product(s) were put on sale, the increased volume of sales for that item should outweigh any reduced unit profits? Im not a marketer, but it seems to me it would. Items like the Merchant for instance on sale at 25 percent off would surely entice some people to spend a bit of loot. In other cases, a sale like that would be a great morale booster for those who already regularly spend credits on certain items.
The problem is, if the item is of limited value to established players, it is more like a slap in the face rather than a boon.
But anyway, please advise us if and when we could expect a sale on something, and whether or not these sales will return to being a regular event.

Canada vs Sweden in 4 hours!
Not the biggest fan in the world, but after watching the Women's Canada vs USA game the other day, which was by the way, the finest example of perfect hockey playing I have ever seen; I just cant miss this game.

Original Universe / Based Qn vs Doom Beavers
« on: January 13, 2014, 03:06:30 PM »

War was declared Jan 13 @ 02:48 PM UTC
For this war, the points to victory are 20,000,000
Alternatively, either alliance will lose if 75% of their members are in diplomacy mode.
Battles against inactive players will NOT count towards the war.

Feature Suggestions / Probe debris
« on: December 16, 2013, 08:12:04 AM »
I have suggested this once before, and that was before it became as critical as it is now. (or at least annoying). The uni is getting massively cluttered with small pockets of probe debris  from npcs that expire without being hit. This has created a situation where new npcs spawn in sectors that already have debris in them. One of the best ways to determine if one has a chance at hitting an npc is whether it has been probed by someone else before you find it.
This cant be relied on any more as an indicator.
I would like to see debris fields being swept on a regular basis, for example, let them have a 10 day lifespan.

Bug Reports / npc expiry time
« on: April 16, 2013, 05:06:54 AM »
Obviously not working, launched an attack with 1:19 running time. no message about it going to disappear, yet it was gone when I did my 30 minute check. The probe debris was still at target site, so it didn't get hit by anyone else. So much for that idea, and so much for 90 million hydro.

Wouldn't it be nice if a GA invite showed the running time of the inviter's fleet?

Anyone wanting a good laugh or at least a chuckle, should take a stroll in G7, from about 440 through 460

Feature Suggestions / warp gates

Was just sitting here trying to work out the logistics of moving 2 different fleets to one, third location in the shortest possible time, when suddenly I had this thought : wouldn't it be nice if you could have 2 gates per moon?

Open question to Matt: Any chance for an approximate delivery date for these dudes to be deployed in Original?

Matt's answer:

Note the date of my question. In the interest of clarity, I offer this definition of "soon" directly from an online dictionary:

1. In the near future; shortly.
2. Without hesitation; promptly

So, if I may re-iterate my original question, How about it Matt, are we approaching "soon" yet?
