LAst I knew all we have at the Syndicate is an age limit - 18 and over, adult content.  Well, that's not true either...as there are few that are really truly adults....the rest of us behave badly and some mothers object.  So do some parents.

Well done, Invictus.  I thought that DDE was just going to chat amongst themselves.

So, I can only comment how this affects me.  Since the compression, I haven't been motiavted enough by the game to put in the effort to get to know my new neighborhoods.  I had a family vacation and went (d) for a few days - then came back....toggled, and all I;ve done for a month now is FRS.  So I toggled back.

I think it's unlikely I'll play again with any regularity.  If SFC 2.0 is the same 24/7 involvement, I won't even start it - or I'll start with the intent to sell/giveaway the account, and that means I won't spend money on it.

The fact that big inactives can be grabbed by a planet move - I won't bother looking for those now either.

So if I quit and sell my account, and the buyer does not cut it off Facebook, I can log into any time I like so long as I don't start another account in that Uni?  Hmmm.....

....cause if multi-accounting is the reason for the suspension, someone better find out what the new account is.  That would be the reason for the person who "logged into" the account, if that was done.  What would be the reason for the other suspensions?  Aiding and abetting?

Original Universe / Re: public galaxy tool

I agree with that.  It differs from SFCstats in that stats looks at the most recent scan of each galaxy that has been manually uploaded.  This requires you to manually click into a system, but it automatically records the newest data as you do so, eliminating the need for uploading.

The advantage is that you can do as much or as little as yu like, and it does it as you play.  With SFCStats, if I were to check only systems 40-220, and upload that partial scan - NO ONE I share with could see systems 1-39 and 221-499 until another full galaxy scan was uploaded.  Only the most recent upload will show and if it is a partial - well, the remainder is gone.

Really, really nice job lytjohn and thank you!!

It takes ONE ticket to BFG from buyer and seller - PlayerA sold account to Player B.  Please remove it from Facebook account PlayerB@newplayer.com.

Once done, change the password on the account.

You can also disconnect it from Facebook altogether I believe.

Said on this board over and over and over and over.  You buy an account, you change the passwords to it.  Why is it that people who buy accounts always scream "hacked" when they can easily remove all ability to do that.

Thanks for that sparkling, witty and oh so incisive contribution DOH.

On the bright side, it'd also make those troublesome retirement parties with fleets of 100+ Zeus so much easier to manage when you can just arrange for the Heph to be destroyed whilst they're on return to it, and you still get the DSP and DF. Much better than having to make them fight. :|

You could put 1000 Zeus on a Heph, FRS them, and kill the heph.  If you didn't get the DF for them, but just the dsp, the DF would be small enough so as not to get all those nosy snoopers who catch the creative dsp-pumpers.  You could build another and another and another and just pump that dsp until you're #1 in all games!  And with just the df from a heph, no one would be watching to see you jump 10m dsp at a time!  Cool!

Again, the biggest fleeters want the game changed to pay the max.

All the arguments back and forth about this compared to RL and not one of you talked about what happens to that res?  Hamrock gets bigger and badder...and that is NOT good for Profiteer, or the rest of us.  It's good for Hamrock.

Hamrock gave the numbers early on - and that was 30% of the fleet - how long do Prof's mines have to crank to replace it?  That's a HUGE bonus to an enemy and will buy LOTS of weapons to use against everyone else.

Something else you might want to consider Hamrock...with his fleet left there, much of the DF might be your own ships.  And again, that represents only 30% of YOUR losses, so it's possible that the loss you sustained was less due to losing the fleet.  Without seeing the whole detail there is no way for me to know.  You might just be crying for nothing - cause you may have come out ahead.  UNLESS it was only about the DSP.

And I ~do ~ think you deserve the dsp for the destroyed fleet.

Lots about Hephs have been debated....maybe it isn't fair to have the lock down in the first place.  You locked a Heph, not the fleet.  If the fleet was on it, you get the debris - if not, you don't get the debris.  I don't see where it's poor sportsmanship to reduce the gain to the opposing player.

By your logic, if you oracle a returning fleet and there are ships on the planet they they should be left there for you?  If you have locked that incoming, and I have res sitting, should I not spend it down?

And what if there were incoming ships to the Heph?  Should he not recall?

Do you whine if someone comes online five minutes before the hit and FRS?

The analogy to the sieged soldiers committing suicide is not valid.  They blew up the ammo and guns so they could not be taken and used by the enemy.  The soldier goes on.

It's an interesting thought - that everyone who goes to the other forum is prohibited from posting here.  While that's quite true in the case of everyone who has been banned here, the reverse is not true - there are none banned there that can only post here.

I guess once you've been banned there is no need to be treated civilly.   Derogatory comments are no longer uncivil once you are no longer part of this community.  Since that board is not locked to members only, anyone can read it so that just might include everyone sooner or later.

Just be careful, painting everyone with the same brush.  To say "those over there" currently includes many from here.  And while most posters are civil here 99% of the time, many of you who are currently taking the high road have been known to be obnoxious and rowdy, and if the current trend continues, you may be next.

Go away, you have somewhere else to post.....do you really want everyone there to do that?  To go away, stop playing, stop posting?  Is the forum here THAT much better for the lack of those who have been banished?

Grinch - you really ARE pushing the envelope.  It isn't necessary.  Well, it is, but you should leave a little room for the rest of us to push a little here and there too.

People are people.  They believe liars, they get angry at losing, they react to a single post in a way they might not at another time.  Bruce said he loathes you - but he doesn't.  And said so, given time to look at what he said.  People change their minds, sometimes faster than a speeding bullet.

About a year and a half ago (March 16, 2010 to be exact), I sent a resume to Matt, too.  I even have experience, but that was then and this is now.  Would I send that email today?  No.   Would I respond the same way to every thread I have in the past?  No.

We can't say how any particular person would be as a mod - good or bad.  And a good one will make lousy decisions.  It was a good decision to bring you back.  Most of the time you entertain me.  Don't make me think it was a bad idea by pushing your way right back out that door.
