Feature Suggestions / Re: PLUTO CLASS MINING SHIP
« on: December 11, 2011, 08:47:24 PM »
I would prefer if these were moveable - it makes people play the game and enforces fleetsaving.   Having them be mobile allows people to not have to build defenses.

Good point on people making 100k of them.  By increasing the cost of hydrogen to 1,000+ - it will put a cap on the amount of these someone can make and fleetsave.

The output can be tweaked down - but 200 hours is a long time to keep something like this alive if you don't fleetsave.  Maybe taking the ROI out to more around 400-500 hours might make some sense though.

As for "unbalanced" - everyone has the ability to build these.  It creates a new stream revenue is generated.  This creates revenue outside of "mines" and "attack/harvest".   I don't claim this is perfect - just an idea.  If we lower the amount of resources generated, would this idea appeal to you more?

If this has been suggested, or something like it - I didn't notice.  I looked through the ship ideas.   As a preface, this gives new resource generation, and new ships to blow up.  You can fleet save it - but if you do, it doesn't generate wealth for you.  If you leave it out - someone may blow them up, but it might be worth it...   People will build tens of thousands of these.....  It'll be a game changer, but nothing unbalancing.

Plutos Class Mining Ship
Description: An almost harmless ship, which generates low resources for the planet it orbits.
Construction Cost: 3000 , 1000, 1000.

Hull Integrity: 400
Weapon Power:5
Shield Power:10

Rapid-fire For + Values [Nothing]:
Rapid-fire Against + Values [All Fighters+3, Cruisers+5, Capitals+10, and Zues+200]:

Cargo Capacity: 50
Fuel Consumption[1000]:
Base Speed:12500
Engine Type [Jet]:

Building and Research Requirements:
Laser 10, Armor 5, Jet Drive 3, Energy 9, Plasma 5

Other Features:

Generates 15 ore per hour
Generates 10 crystal per hour
Generates 5 hydrogen per hour

Very unbalancing - and - not strategic at all - you made a fast piece of fodder.

1) It's a fast piece of *** UNBALANCED *** fodder.
    a) No weapons
    b) higher shields than hades
    c) more hull than Athena
2)  Everything should RF it, but almost nothing does
3)  Special Abilities don't exist.  And this one is game breaking
4)  It makes raiding someone without defenses almost instant in system ( can you say 10 minutes? in SFCO with pulse 13)

I was going to take some time and actually critique this, but the time it would take me, exceeds the time I set aside for philanthropy for the entire month.

I saw it all happen - except the account stealing.  I buy it.

Question, was your PW for Uni2 similar to SFC?  Could someone have just guessed it?

But there's a fine line between listening to your customers enough and too much, and too much is dangerous. Henry T. Ford once said that if he asked his customers what they wanted, they'd have said a faster horse.

Henry Ford also said his customers could have a Model T in any color they wanted, so long as it was black.  Ford wasn't an innovator, but rather a mass-producer.  Ford wasn't being entirely truthful, His customers weren't horse racers, but rather potential drivers.

There's the Ford mentality - lets make a lot and sell it cheap.  And there's the Apple mentality, Lets Make Alot, Alot Better.  There's plenty in between, would you say that it's fair that the Ford mentality would be to create as many universes as possible and capture multiple low end purchases?  Is this the BFG Strategy going forward?

lol, sid, always trying to rile people up. Stop trolling.
When you learn what a troll is, then post. Otherwise STFU.

Since we've started a troll fest, I'm throwing my expert opinion in the dog pile.  Condensing the universe is baby-poop compared to pretty much everything I do on a daily basis -- this includes curing cancer, killing bin-laden, finding Obama's long form birth certificate, Slaying Zombie Nazi's, Causing Earth Quakes in the South Pacific.. etc..

Tell Matt to give me a ring, and I'll have this all done up in no time.  Screw programming, I got this new thing called Chuck Norris.  He and I will give their building a round-house kick that'll settle all the universes into 1, knock all the asshats out of D mode, allow Hephs to oracle/nuke/warp, and make V/S moders farmable.

All those in favor, say "AYE!!!"

News, Updates, and Information / Re: Compression of Universes
« on: May 10, 2011, 06:20:52 PM »
I'm a fleeter.  I like to blow people up.  Until today, I thought compression would be an awesome Idea.  In my mind, I figured I'd buy however many planet movers were required, space my planets to places where small people were huddled together, and I would rape, pillage, and plunder the peons.

I would like to consider myself someone with the ability to reflect.  Once I realized I was willing to spend $100? $200? maybe $500 in moving my developed planets around, I realized how unfair it is for the indigent peon.  Perhaps not truly indigent or a peon - but both words describe their plight compared to mine.

The top players, will love this.  We will spend less hydrogen.  We will find new targets.  We will rape and pillage new alliances that we've never seen before.  I've never gone farther south than G34...  I would love to find myself situated amongst a bunch of New Hope, Star Wars, or some other alliance that would fall for a ninja (Or maybe they will be slower than warp 11 and under the guise of my newly moved planet with moon.)

I'm a hawk, and I can honestly say - if you're not in the top 100, the compression isn't going to be good for you.  35 galaxies, 8 of them will be ruled by Rubicon.  Another 8 By Psiosa, and the remainder by Kenneth and Kusanagi.  If somehow, you happen to be in a galaxy that one of them aren't in, there's Grinch, Lim, Runa, Progmetal, Ba'ku, and that New kid "Some Call Me Tim."

Let's be honest.  The compression is about us, the elite, the top 100.  And me - I'll have to play my cards right and avoid the 25 people with bigger fleets than me...  I'm drooling thinking about all those n00b fleets that are out in the 90's that I can't get to, that will be within 1-2 galaxies...  I'll place my planets in G 3, 6, 9, 12..  So I'll find new food...

Anyone that says people quit because they can't find enough food, isn't being honest with themselves.  People quit because life happens.  People quit because they are bored, it has nothing to do with targets.  The #1 reason people quit is RAGE QUIT.  I know, because I made someone do it today.  I blew up everything he owned and sent him a message that said, "Who's your daddy.  This guy right here."   I guarantee someone every week quits because of me blowing their stuff up.

Let's face facts.  #1 reason for quitting = Rage.  #1 benefactor of Compression = top 100.  Embrace the benefit if it's for you, but don't lie to people and try to persuade them it's good for the little guy.

@ vollen if he lost a majority of his fleet to putting himself in a bad spot, I could see him ragging ofF the rest.  :)  but let's wait with anticipation for the grinch to tell what should be a good story. I Am seriously jelous we where putting a team together to go after kimaris. My heph just arrived from a 15 g jump to put in a spot to start stalking kimaris.

My imagination is not so limited that I couldn't fathom the possibility, rather - I'm a big believer in the Law of Succinctness.

Grinch Toggled (d!) then started jumping in rank.

Believe the battles went down in <Edited Per Request>.

It's hard to imagine that it was a rage-quit/suicide, at least it's hard for me to imagine with having heard the rumors that the account was sold for $1400.  Who dumps 3,000,000 RSP in ships on a rage quit?  The fact that Kimaris had a quarter million arties made him one of the hardest targets to kill.

Personally, I'll admit that I am a little jealous.  If someone offered that to me, it would be tough to turn down.

I think until we hear from Kimaris, Grinch, and/or BFG we just won't ever know....

Oh - I didn't mean to imply that 2$Bill is a douche bag.  On the contrary - rather that his posts are rather, colorful.  I'm comparing apples to oranges here.

They petitioned BFG about it.  This was never about flaming a moderator - or if it was, it was unintentional.  I've never had a problem with Laggy or Pton.

For all I know, BFG themselves (the paid ones) could have banned him and called him a douchebag.  Personally - It's no skin off my nose either way.

I just found it hilarious - considering - some of the things I've seen posted here.  Maybe it's the irony.  I mean - 2$Bill is still with us :)

I requested a screenshot.    I've never seen him post - or atleast not with a name I'd recognize.

I don't know his user name.  I'll request that as well.
