lets talk about how the math wont even work

lets assume orig as the biggest uni

you need gates to go all 100 sols.. 1-100.. otherwise someone whos maybe built those gates.. will get screwed and you cant do that with an update (except nerfing the oracle but thats another thread)

so a realistically achievable FTL would be a ceiling lets call it .. 12..

the impact of this update  will be so negligible.. most users will already be shooting at 9 for a zeus (especially in uni for the frs possibilities)

talk about just being in there for the numbers this update would just be an annoying step of negligible game impact

Sometimes I wish they would allow an all-script uni, and all the scripters can get their rocks off trying to outdo each other and leave the rest of the non-scripters alone. Reminds me of that old SNL skit about the all-steroid olympics.

Of course giving a playground for scripters will only increase the scripting in the non-scripting uni's so not gonna happen. But it would be fun. A game that went this route was TW2002. Still around today actually. It does make it impossible to play without scripts though.

yeah and throw all cell phone users in it too

and and all wifi users

LAN LINE DESKTOP COMPUTER USERS ONLY IN OUR UNI

I think that is the most frustrating thing about the whole subject.        Clear rules that were followed everytime would go a long ways to removing the frustration and confusion that a lot of players have.        Is it too late to submit this to Kiki for her interview with Matt?

I agree on it being a frustrating issue

but as to the interview.. i say ask him about this

http://courts.ci.akron.oh.us/cases/akro ... NUM=103814

that would be a good read

not only is there an illegal gambling establishment charge

but if you read through the docket he gets charged with contempt of court

its weird and you've asked a lot of pointed questions.. questions that are hard to get finite answers for out of BFG

in a nutshell and very simple terms

going to a page manually.. and having a script click a bunch of buttons on that page is ok..(fleet saving or probing)

having a script hit the same button with a timer.. is a bot(building bot or mission bot)

having a script move you from page to page is bypassing the built in navigation system..(scanning an entire galaxy over a single solar system)

doesn't answer everything.. but its some info.. i guess

and really its a topic where every ticket with BFG on it changes their official position.. so its.. fluid and hard to define

IT IS NOT A PROPULSION TECH

you are not the first person to think that...

its a science tech.. its understanding advanced physics so your population can research techs related to the warping of space-time to acheive FTL

it runs ARCnet as much as it does the WARP drive

hows this for an argument on your side of the coin

this change disenfranchises the rage quitter from doing what they want

no more rage quitting through (vmode) delete your planets or dont rage.

so in a sense this is mean to all the whiney little bitches who cant handle their game

maybe we should worry about them

ok.. one.. pushers arnt going to wait 35 days.. theyll straight out push

and two this is a failed argument used outside this game.. like with legalizing a drug

omg if you legalize pot more people will smoke.. its a stupid scare tactic with no statistical backing at all

AT ALL

stoners are already stoners.. they arnt changing

non-smokers wont start cause they already know its not what they want

youll have  a negligible amount of people riding the line.. too scared to try it.. who might try it if its legal..b ut they wont be your model for a hardcore stoner.

same thing with farmers

farmers already farm.. this expands there game

hunters wont stick around to farm.. theyll want to hunt.. you wont change how people play by making a change like this

how funing stupid are you

and i love how you little bitches feel fine bitching and flaming at me.. but its poor taste when i act in the same way.. funign bigots with your double standards

go bitch and moan in your own funing threads.

so moral of this thread

if you wanna get someone in trouble

create a new account with a similar structured name

drop all their colonies near the victim

push their account with any resources you can muster

ticket them for pushing on your other account and take your "evidence" to the forums

not saying thats what happened to phil

but all the same you guys are proving how successful my aforementioned strategy would work

no it is the ONLY reason and its a horribly bigoted reason

you cant argue disenfranchisement of the (vmode) account

and how in the fun am i trolling right now.. you came on this thread to bash and be a dick cause.. as youll admit.. its what you enjoy on line

you enjoy the arguments

you came here to start another argument

you wanted to just talk shit and see some entertaining heated posts in response

that is trolling that is what YOURE doing

me calling you out on it and calling you a douche isnt trolling.. its flaming

how bout you take the advice i gave pton.. and quietly go sit in the nearest corner and play "go fun yourself" and let the adults have a nice little conversation without you

just to double check

im really thrown by that lazzyness argument

your only reason not to do this.. is because you're judgeing these people as being less then you.. and depriving them of an interest purely because of your judgment

not because of any impact to your game

how in the world can you be such a bigot

That would show the player as being online though. Only way to make it happen offline is if there is an external account that watches for * then goes into the account and fleetsaves. There is no way to watch for incoming probes and have no activity while on any planet or moon.

you could sit on a moving heph and have the script watch for the red ! image to load on the page

have the trigger be an incoming attack rather then a probe

would take some page-to-page navigation .. but not that complicated of a script

actually penguin, you missed another argument against it...it promotes laziness...promotes people still going after inactives rather than growing a pair and trying to hunt actives....doesn't matter it has been suggested many many times and has not changed, it NEVER will

lol what a sad stretch of an argument.. lazyness.. based on what.. your personal perspective on what different mechanics of the game have as assigned values?

give us a break boy

we arnt going to prioritize things they way you do.. if someone wants to farm Is.. let them farm Is.. take your words and go bust their fleet if its that big of a deal.

this is a valid argument and well formed

you are being combative for the sake of your little troll self getting off on another forum fight.. probably rubbing out your half a chubby when someone calls you out on something

there is a script that constantly refreshes the page watches for a probe and sends an email as way of notification(this risks a captcha ban every time you use it.. but anyone and their dog can talk their way out of a captcha ban)

there is another script for emergency quick fleetsaving.. defaulting at 10% same planet all ships all rez.. but it can be tweaked to wahtever variaion of saving you want

the first one is an attack notification script and is illegal

the second one is a legitimate fleetsaving script...

you could combine the two, automating the second one as the trigger in lue of sending an email.

this would make both elements illegal but would create a very simple automatic fleet save script based on an incoming probe

you could start to go through and hash out timers and delays and what not to make it less obvious
