Alliances / TopGun Surrenders To Based On
« on: April 23, 2011, 05:37:39 AM »

Commiserations to TopGun who could not cope with our style of warfare and who failed to find a counter to it in wartime.  They recognised late on that the only way to stop an alliance bashing another alliance is to end a war.

Congratulations to all the members of the Disciples Of Muad'Dib for their close teamwork and action in making war untenable for our enemies.

Welcome also to our first former TopGun members who have joined our ranks to be assisted in the Based On style of teamwork and warfare.

The Spice Must Flow.

Alliances / War - TopGun vs Based On
« on: March 11, 2011, 10:43:17 AM »
As of 20.00 hrs game time today Based On shall formally accept war against TopGun.

Based On shall formally decline war against IMMORTAL

This shall not prevent IMMORTAL attacking us but at least bashing rules apply there. IMMORTAL is a purely mobile alliance. TopGun is like us, semi-mobile.

The metric therefore favours a straight war against TopGun.

This message is to advise you of Universal war taking place.

Alliances / The Disciples of Muad'Dib
« on: December 19, 2010, 08:54:19 AM »
The Disciples of Muad'Dib (tag is Based On) is now over 1 year old (Happy Birthday Disciples!) and is now active in every corner of the Universe.

We have now moved out of our strongholds which other alliances wished to challenge (to their detriment) and expanded far and wide.  120+ members which fluctuates a bit but currently ranked 18th.  Our DSP is ranked 20th.  Alliance average is very poor and I have been asked why this is so.  Simple really.  We take on newer players and train them up to be bloodthirsty Fremen before some move on to other alliances.  Just ask many of the great people who will give references (our victims).  Alliances big or small just love to mix it with us and after a frantic pace of hard hitting ship killing space fest, they too come to realise that this small bunch of space nutters may be a bite too big as well as totally crazy.

My thanks to Emperor Kronos who took over the alliance when I needed some r/l time.  Under his guidance the alliance matured into the keen edged weapon it is.

I am now back in the hot seat and loving every minute.

So if you know someone in our alliance and they vouch for you, then you're in.  Go inactive and you're booted but can re-apply if you go active again.  If you like smashing things into little pieces, you're in.  Particularly if you are an emerging player.  We like to help you get the best from this game.

You will find targets everywhere.  It's the way we like it.  Gives everyone more to do.  We have our friendly rivalries with a few alliances and we always have a go at each other.  It's what keeps the game interesting.  Good for them and good for us.  However when it comes to being completely bloodthirsty and wholeheartedly ruthless, then the Disciples of Muad'Dib is probably the alliance for you.

We want players who can think for themselves and who can work as a team.  We want players who will smash everything in sight again and again.  We want players who if they lose their fleets just rebuild and get even.  No Cry Babies wanted.

Our alliance is popular with men and women because we are totally set on annihilation of everything.  Your Spice is ours and we mean to get it.

So if you are ruthless, dedicated, a team player and active then contact the Disciples of Muad'Dib.

Alliances / The D Mode Alliance
« on: December 17, 2010, 02:42:17 PM »
Come join the We Want D Mode alliance (tag D) cos we don't give a D about this Uni but joined up for the laugh.

Feel free to pretend (it is a game after all) that your fleets and planets are invulnerable to everyone else as you blithely relax over the festive season content that you are safe from attack.

Farmers welcome.  Traders welcome.  Attacking fleets NOT welcome.  :D

Battle Reports / Commander Bertoni Takes On John Gilbert-Jupp
« on: September 21, 2010, 02:58:31 PM »
All credit to Commander Bertoni for his attempt at taking out my defensive fleet whilst an attack fleet was en route to an alliance colleague of Commander Bertoni's.  If this had succeeded he would have taken the millions of res on the planet and destroyed a sizable defensive fleet.

It all started when I was probed and then Oracled by Commander Bertoni who saw the following on the ground with my main attack fleet heading off 4 systems away.

Believing all was safe he launched a devastating attack which would have won.
I immediately recalled my attack on his alliance colleague and was set to arrive a few minutes before Bertoni's attack would hit.

However he then probed and with a mere second to spare, I got my returned attack fleet into orbit.  I then set it to arrive a second before the main attack.

Commander Bertoni seeing that all was well allowed his attack to hit.  An impressive effort which would have put me back into the Stone Age but for my close timing.

The fleets which participated in this superb battle were:

The final result was:

So commiserations Commander Bertoni but many thanks for an excellent battle.

However, no moon formed.

Alliances / Disciples Of Muad'Dib Has New Leader
« on: June 14, 2010, 10:12:33 PM »
After six wonderful months heading up the Disciples Of Muad'Dib I am calling it a day in Original.

Our new Naib is Longy.

I have a lot of work coming up and cannot devote the time I would have wanted to the game.  Longy will be a good leader for the alliance.  40% of our alliance is ranked under 10k and active daily.  Working in mobile Strike Teams, they have now expanded as far down as G8.  With a training alliance (once more brought back in house) for new members and others who need to learn our game play, the Disciples Of Muad'Dib is a well structured alliance.

It has been a real pleasure leading them.

I retire from the game at the end of June.

Alliances / Warriors Of The God Emperor Wants New/Weak Ranked Players
« on: June 04, 2010, 08:44:40 AM »
Warriors Of The God Emperor is a training alliance for the Disciples Of Muad'Dib.

If you are ranked 60k or weaker then have a chat with Emperor Kronos who heads up our training alliance (tag is Fremen).

He and another drawn from our ranks will work with you to build up your skills in the game, so that you can later join the Disciples Of Muad'Dib (tag is Based On) as an experienced player in SFC.

After a superb day attacking AIG and taking out a number of fleets, AIG decided to exact revenge.

They launched an all out attack.  Spotting the ninja at the last second, two fleets turned tail and ran.  The outcome would have been the same but more devastation.  The three survivors who failed to retreat were mowed down.

The attacking side failed to acquire any resources.

There now float 12,675,000 ore and 8,077,050 crystal at this location.
There's a 20.0% chance that a moon will form from the debris.
A new moon has formed from the wreckage.

Original Universe / Moon Abandoned - An Ode To UniMat0
« on: May 22, 2010, 06:06:02 PM »
There once was a planet which was given a Moon.
From the debris it formed and it caused us to swoon.
As this Moon was next to our most sacred of homes.
It needed to go so that would could still roam.

The Oracle built it espied all that we did.
Yet through fortune the owner in error did quit.
For the moon was attacked each night and each day.
Until that moon and planet went away.

That's two moons abandoned in war against us.

I note that your alliance was dissolved today.  Either by accident or design.

The Disciples Of Muad'Dib (Based On) welcomes all former SST members joining our ranks.

Any former member of SST who has not had the opportunity to switch over to us please feel free to do so.

I am liaising with one of your former Officers.

Extreme Universe / I Am Famous
« on: April 05, 2010, 01:15:25 PM »
Or infamous.

Just found out that I am officially on the Most Wanted list by New Hope in Extreme.  :D

Maybe if they learned to fleet/resource save I wouldn't be able to build all my shiny new ships to plunder even more from them.  I mean it's bad enough their playing Farmville in Original without trying the same concept here in Extreme.

So yum yum fun as I bask in the sun and plan another run on their enclaves.
