General Starfleet Discussion / Can you Ninja the Oracle User?
« on: March 02, 2010, 08:32:29 PM »
Help me develop this idea ...

Step 1.  You set up your resource save for say ... a 16 hour round trip.  This fleet could be a regular harvest mission from your planet.  Include a few attack ships just to keep up appearances.

Step 2. You also set up a deploy mission containing your combat/ninja fleet on a 8.5 hour deploy.

Step 3.  About 8 hours later, you hit the recall button on the ninja-deploy-mission, timing it such that your fleet arrives at about the same time as your harvest-return.  (Preferably 2 seconds before the harvest returns, I guess)

If BFG fixes the oracle such that the Oracle user cannot see deploy missions (the way it is with O-Game), then the player using Oracle can't see the ninja-deploy-mission coming in.  They'll only see the harvest return trip.  If the Oracle user assumes that the only ships returning are from the harvest, they'll get a nice surprise when they meet up with the ninja-deploy-recalled mission.

Yes, I know there's still a chance that the Oracle-user will send in an overkill fleet, especially if he starts probe slow and calling in a group attack with his buddies.  But the unknown element of how big the ninja fleet might be should help curtail the number of targets an Oracle-user would have.

Plus, if the Oracle-user does probe slow too much, the guy doing the fleetsave gains time to re-deploy.

Extreme Universe / no more "N" and "n"
« on: February 24, 2010, 03:34:50 PM »
I just noticed ... I don't see the "(N)" and "(n)" that indicate newbie protection (and I'm still under 5000 build points).  The planets are still grayed out, but where it doesn't show the "(N)" and "(n)" anymore.

(Of course, the rank still makes it obvious which N/n they are)

This seemed to change along with today's maintenance cycle.

Extreme Universe / Inactive player PURGING?
« on: February 01, 2010, 02:17:09 PM »
I'm just browsing around the galaxies ... and I'm noticing unoccupied planets with debris fields.

It's only been 10 days or so since the game started right? Have they started auto-deleting the inactive accounts already???

Extreme Universe / Extreme Travel Time and Fuel Cost
« on: January 25, 2010, 05:00:30 PM »
I've been checking the travel time and fuel cost.  It seems to be different in Extreme, compared to the original universe.

Time seems to be divided by 2.

But Fuel Cost seems to have increased somehow.
