My thanks to all of you experienced heads! As one of the smaller players, I MUST give you Big Dawgs a big salute. I've been building much like you guys recommend. My Boss, Treakle, preaches the same sermon. In addition, he posts you can never have enough dios.
Last week, I thought my Mighty fleet had plenty. They have been supporting my 16B Zeese, after all. Then, I get a message out of the blue. A rather large player, from another alliance, sent me a message.
He said that he would be popping a large, local (to me) NPC. He said that at the time, he was running too low on H2 to send the dios. And the debris would be mine.
So far, after a week, I've managed to scoop up about 5℅ of the original cloud. Spent a lot of H2 while doing so.
I, for one, will take your advice to heart. I also have an added respect for your resource management!!!
My Dio fleets have grown about 200x, and I still don't have enough!
Now, when the Boss posts NPC hits, I'll have more respect for his ability to clean up the mess! Those numbers are mind boggling, and I applaud all of you on your management skills!
Thanks for all the advice!

From Capt. Saltwater:
You are always welcome to come visit me any time you want JMC  I love it when free dsp is dropped off at my doorstep :).

I'd love to stop by, but you being in d-mode doesn't help my cause.

I MUST agree with all of the above. Tourneys are great and Zeus farming isn't much fun. It IS a necessary evil if I am to EVER have a shot of bagging The Freak. I am glad to see that he, and others, take the Time to check on my progress. When the Time comes, I'm sure the Boss will make sure we're ready. Thanks to all for keeping the game fun.
Well, off to the daughter's wedding. Hopefully, someone will make sure I did my FRS properly!

Feature Suggestions / Re: Let's brainstorm...

Just sent this.
Hey Jason and Matt!
Of course, as you know, I STILL love playing Original Universe. A BUNCH of us do. Got a couple of things I hope you'll consider. A LOT of the old d-mode guys have said that they won't come out unless you guys add a few things like new ships, units, etc.
How about a new Stealth Research? Higher levels make you more stealthy and able to detect stealth attempts against you. Has to be tied in with Espionage, Faster Than Light, and either Warp drive or maybe a Stealth Drive.
A cool new unit to tie in could be a Stealth droid/Spy/Mercenary. Offensively, it would have a one-way mission and be capable of disabling (if successful) an enemy Warp Gate for an hour. Success would depend on level. Higher levels could increase length of time proportionally like higher Warp Gate levels. The cost would have to be similar to a heph. No mercenary would agree to a one-way mission without a cost.
Numbers of this unit could also be deployed on our moons as a defense against the above mission from a Warp Gate Attack. They may need a special building/barracks to be stored properly.
I can see this adding to some interesting situations/twists in an attack/war! Incoming attack will be noted as usual. Ah!, a ninja opportunity. One minute out, STEALTH Ship(s) detected! Maybe a Yellow stripe.
Oh, guess we need a Stealth Ship to use the new technology. Also a single use item since it's a one-way trip. You can call it the Aegis. Only capable of moving one occupant. I'd give it a similar cost since it is using the "new" technology. I'd probably only give it a speed similar to the Charon, but that's just me.
Of course I still want the ship I proposed a few years ago. The Boomer Escort. It really doesn't do anything except play your choice of attack theme music. My choices are STILL ZZ Top's "La Grange" or Rush's "Tom Sawyer". LOL!
I think if you could add something like these to our game, I think you'll see more interest/players/possible revenue. It'll prove to the old school guys that you haven't forgot about us. I know you haven't. You still take care of ALL my other (reasonable, lol) requests.

Regards,
 John Carter Mars

The Universe is a dangerous place. Watching the wars from the sidelines? Yep. That's dangerous too, if you don't stay on your toes.

Me and the gang were watching for some action around Klarg's place. Always something going on over there.

Someone spotted a heph and a funny glow around his colony. Ships are in the air!

Hey! Aren't some of those headed this way?!? Yes! Run for cover boys! Dang, here comes some nukes too!

Your planet, Tres Hombres ‎[], was not hit by the Missile Strike from Dead Zone ‎[] as your Anti-Ballistic Missiles destroyed all the incoming Interplanetary Ballistic Missiles.

In the attack from Hephaestus ‎‎[] on La Grange ‎‎[]:

The attacking side acquired 0 resources.

Leskit (ATTACKER) lost 0 RSP and gained 0 DSP. (more)
John Carter Mars (DEFENDER) lost 0 RSP and gained 0 DSP. (more)

0 ore and 113,400 crystal are now floating at this location.

Was sitting with the crews on one of the most Prime pieces of real estate in the universe. We were exchanging stories about the past SWaRM wars and what those sneaky Minutemen may be cooking up, when one of my sharpest captains noticed a couple of flashes in the night sky.
A minute later, her XO came running up with a report. The Borg have landed in this system, and they've already started terraforming the planets into cubes!
A bustle started. I called them all to attention.

"Good to see you on your toes, folks! Let's wait and see what else we find prior to blindly rushing in."
A snicker comes from a few of the officers that know me too well. I looked, smiled and winked.

"Send a communication to our old adversary, Klarg. Let's see what he has. Tell him that we have new neighbors in the system. Does he have any plans? I'm thinking of rolling out the 'Welcome mat' and giving them a moon offering. Doesn't look like they have one around those colonies."

With those chunks from their terraforming, surely we can give them some good ol' Southern hospitality. War or no war. It's just the nice thing to do, right?

About then, the communications officer comes back with a response from Klarg.

"Ugh!"

Well, to be honest, we've never really figured out his language. To the best of our ability to translate, we think that meant, "Roll out the red carpet and send them a proper Prom shot." If it wasn't that, it may have meant, "Don't bother me now. My ice cream is melting." Maybe, someday we'll know.

Any-who.

"Launch the Prom moon-shot fleets!" Let them know that we really care. Besides, the Colony Owners Association has strict guidelines about G18 colonization. "Tally Ho!"

In the attack from La Grange ‎‎[18:218:12m] on BOOOOOO ‎‎[18:218:15]:

The attacking side acquired 58 ore and 29 crystal.

John Carter Mars (ATTACKER) lost 0 RSP and gained 0 DSP. (less)

  * Contributed 125,000,000,000 RSP to the battle.

  * Lost 0 ore, 0 crystal, and 0 hydrogen in damages.
  * Acquired 58 ore, 29 crystal, and 0 hydrogen in plunder.
  * Lost 0 of 1000000000 Prometheus Class Destroyers (1000000000 remain).

MrHyde (DEFENDER) lost 0 RSP and gained 0 DSP. (less)

  * Contributed 0 RSP to the battle.

  * Lost 0 ore, 0 crystal, and 0 hydrogen in damages.

Much to our disdain. No moon formed. They acted like they didn't appreciate our offering! The Warhoons have better manners than that. About the Time the ships got back, we noticed probe trails and moons were formed. Just enough to make my captains angry.
Think I'll let them stay that way for a while and keep them on their toes.

Until next Time, keep an eye out for another chapter.
