However, no moon formed.

Not bad but not the biggest as far as dsp on one side and cumulative profit from loses and df

its still early and you can rebuild it fatty

Try using battle calc, it's been exemplary for me. Dead on accurate, with the occasional NICE surprise. You do have to calculate the effect of E yourself but that's easy.

I have a spreadsheet for that
Title: Re: First Big Hit of this UNI
Post by: censored on March 28, 2015, 07:53:30 PM
A spreadsheet? Isn't that overkill for a simple X = Base x E x 0.5 x a/w/s?

YOU SHOOD REVUE YOUR PEMDAS AND TRY AGAIN

Pemdas? Oh you mean BEDMAS

If you're actually criticising that equation then YOU should review your order of operations.

wow, how quickly the conversation degenerates from the actual topic here. i just had to come back and see.

ha ha

the three of us had fun, everyone else has fun arguing formulas and stuff completely unrelated to the original thread.

wow.

PEMDAS AND BEMDAS ARE THE SAME THING  BRAKETS AND PARENTHSIS

Gee I'm glad you're here to tell us these things.

Now try pointing out exactly what is wrong with the equation. I'll wait. :)

I did use battle mentat. In general it has been accurate for me, but on this occasion it was way off. It was fun and all ships are rebuilt, so all good.

No not Mentat, Battlecalc. It's still there believe it or not.

X = Base x E x 0.5 x a/w/s

IF
BASE = 100
E=1
A/W/S = 6 (.6)

X = 100 x 1 x 0.5 x .6

X=30

lol such fail.

X = 100 x 1 x 0.05 x 0.6 = 3

X = 3.

Of course if you knew what you were doing you would have found the real error.

X = 100 x (1 x 0 .05 + 1****) x 1.6 = 168

Some advice. Works for spelling and grammar nazi's too:

If you're going to critique something, you'd best get it right. Else you simply look more foolish than the person you're attempting to make look foolish. Giving E a 50% increase instead of a 5% increase and not putting a 1 in front of the .6 is two errors to my one. Your error is even worse because you were actually attempting to seriously critique the equation when it was pretty obvious I simply slapped enough figures down so that my point was made. lmfao

Who gives a toss. Its a friggin game. I use BM or BC. it does the math for me. I treat the eradeon as a bonus for me, also you don't know if I am or Rob is using any commander, so I calc it based on what BM tells me and in general it is approx correct. We are not playing a game that says my dick is bigger than yours. (I.E. I can do math better than you), although if you are so sad as to work it out to the letter then neither of you has a bigger dick than me.

In other words, stop trolling my thread
Title: Re: First Big Hit of this UNI

I simply made a suggestion. Flying off the handle over it like a 12 year old girl will accomplish nothing.
Title: Re: First Big Hit of this UNI
Post by: Bodge on March 28, 2015, 11:37:40 PM
I accepted your suggestion but then you and MC Hammer are trying to give everyone a math lesson. The rest of us don't care if you are great at math or math whizzes. If you want to do that take it to your own thread, you can play with each other there. not in my thread.

Post by: censored on March 29, 2015, 12:54:39 AM
I'm sorry you feel I was attempting to give everyone a math lesson. It wasn't my intention to do anything more than offer the suggestion. I was trying to see into Phil's thought process when I asked the question, because he's a great player and might have something to teach me that I've overlooked. I shouldn't have let MC drag me into a trolling session. My apologies.

i cant be bothered to start new thread. guess this can be my personal battle thread, for the time being. this one a bit better results for me than last one. nice way to cap off a 60k dsp day :)

and, player involved rage quit, tossed one nuke at me 2 minutes after attack, sent nasty message, deleted all planets except one, and went into vacation mode.

i got the whole df, obviously, cant be bothered to find report to post it, no nukes or anything sent.

oh, and i used battlementat. was pretty close :)
i can do math, but i spend my time finding targets, instead of working out formulas and spreadsheets. guess thats why i am near top of uni all the time, cause i spend time playing game, instead of doing stupid math problems and scenarios related to game.

my advice: when playing game, look for targets, kill them. dont waste time calculating shit, use battlementat, its quick, you can probe, sim, and launch inside of a minute, instead of spending half hour doing your calcs to see whats gonna happen

best way: look at galaxy view 5 seconds after battle, watch the glorious df appear :) who cares if you lost 4 athenas or 6!!!

Good job rob, and I agree, we have BC for a reason
