You forgot to end it with this!

"There's a 20% chance a moon will form from the debris.
However, no moon formed."
This was done before moons came out.

Battle Reports / Re: An End to an Era. Ode to Darth Paulidius

Well I heard about this from a player friend of mine but couldn't believe it. But here it is. I knew Paulo from the TLH days when he recruited me in. After a little time past he and I butted heads but still played fairly to each other. He was VERY good at what he did, he moved up the fastest I have ever seen a player move. He was/is a skilled player in the game and I wish him good luck in what ever he does. Was this a good trap, yes it was, as back handed as it was. It was a very effective move to take down a very powerful member. If this puts him down for ever then it is his choice to do so, I doubt anyone pushed him out by a move like this. If it had happend to me I would rebuild and hunt down the players responsible. All he has lost is his fleet, this can be rebuilt. His tactics would not have change, though I am sure he would reevaluate who his friends were, and his research would not have been affected. If he started from where I first saw him, and ended up to where he was just before this happend, then he can do it again, and probably quicker too. Good luck to you all out there.

I was able to get into my messages just before it went down again, and I liked what I saw.

Well I sent out my attack fleet about an hour before the system went down, checked it just before, and this guy still didn't get on. Check the site just after it came on, and then went off again, and it hit. I gave him a 13.3% chance of getting a moon, but no moon formed. So either he thought it was for 16:00 as well, or didn't think that he was going to get hit, either way not smart!

I did it just a few seconds after I posted it.

Well I was trying to give this guy the first moon in the original universe, but at no avail.

In the attack from G40P-DB [XX:XXX:XX] on Code 5 Cyber Geass [XX:XXX:XX]:

The attacking side acquired 302,617 ore, 72,203 crystal, and 76,289 hydrogen.

There now float 1,189,500 ore and 809,400 crystal in this orbit.
There's a 13.3% chance that a moon will form from the debris.
However, no moon formed.

>>So the highest chance to get a moon is 20% (as I hear it) and I gave this guy 13.3% and still no moon, dang it, I was hoping to give the first moon to someone in this game. Oh well, I guess it’s not my luck.

General Starfleet Discussion / Re: WARNING - MOONS ARE BUGGY

Yep, most of the new and soon to come updates are to favor the already high enough players. This is the common thing for most games though. They just add stuff to work for, to keep the bored higher players playing to get something new. I would like to see something new come out for the middle and lower ranked players.

Well I loved that movie, so I like your names. Very cool.

Oh, and if you decide to join an alliance, join one that is close to you, it will do no good to join one far away, no matter their rank or numbers.

It is very possible. Alliances only offer group support really. Sure they offer NAP protection but that might be the bulk of it. I have never been able to join a group attack or had anyone else group defend my planets, so as far as alliance protection I have had none! Having the NAP's somewhat hamper your attackability. Some of the closest and most juicy players that I want to attack have a NAP with my alliance. I like my alliance because I can talk to other players and it is a community of sorts, so that is the best part of an alliance. If you just fleetsave you can withstand any assualt on you.

Alliances / Re: The Borg have assimilated your mother

Isn't the Borg Queen supposed to make all the decisions and rule over her drones. So why do you say that ever member has a voice in what to do. The Borg queen tell everyone what to do, she gives the orders and they have to obey, no dicsussion!

General Starfleet Discussion / Re: Attack Bans etc....

It seems to me that the extra time given is to allow those players who fleetsaved to just after or before the "due back on time". This way those who may have been sleeping or working during the "due back on" time was to hit would be allowed a Grace Period like Laggynate stated so they can fleetsave at the earliest opertunity for them. This grace period covers the amount of time spent at work or sleeping so all players can get on at some point before the "allowed to attack" time comes back online and they can fleetsave still, so they won't have to worry about it. So those who are probing now are really just wasting time because the player may come back online and fleetsave before they send their ships to attack. Yes they may have a little advantage by knowing what kind of ships and resources the other player may have, but they would/should probe again before sending out an attack to make sure that the player hasn't fleetsaved already. And those who don't come online before the "allowed to attack" time comes back online are idiots anyways. They should have timed their original fleetsave  to arrive back just before or after the "due back online" time or to the next time after then that they get back online, which should be within the extra 12 hours that BFG has given us. So BFG has been very fair to give the extra time and it is not in any way better for one player than another.

My opinion!

You will also see your rank increase quicker.

Original Universe / Re: Long term colony distrabution
« on: February 14, 2010, 04:22:26 PM »
Well if you are starting out then colonies are going to be short term. Keep them close by and use them as farms to gather resources for research and ships. Then once you get going and are ready to take on biger targets than the inactives you are hitting, set out to another galaxy and set up more colonies.

I have colonies in 4 other galaxies other than my main galaxy. I have my homeworld in one, two others in galaxies 20G's apart and one as a floater. On my floater I only built shipyards to build my slower, yet needed ships such as the dio and cargos, and to build my stronger ships. The other colonies have mines and shipyard as they are more perminate.

Just scout the area that you want to set up colony to make sure that is where you want to go. I would set it  up on the 1/4 marks in the galaxies (125,250,375) this way you have enough room to travel both ways. I you set up on 1 or 499 then you can travel only one way so it is a wasted spot.

General Starfleet Discussion / Re: To ally or not ally?
« on: February 14, 2010, 03:57:08 PM »
I think one could survive outside of an alliance. They are good for group defends and attacks, but every alliance that I have been in has not come to help me when I got attacked and I joined one attack that was not successful.

They are good for two things in my opinion. 1) for ingame talking to others and having fun 2)as an umbella of sorts; if someone wants to attack you but you are in a large alliance then they might not attack in fear of retaliation, but the alliances that I have had part in would only say fleetsave and kiss you but goodbye, not myself as I would help if I could, but most everyone would post that. So the umbrella will help keep some "rain" off you but most of the "wind" can come in from the sides and blow your a** away (as it were!)

I left the first alliance after reading the fleetsave thing over 100 times with no offer to help others. I then started my own with just my self in it. I gained rank faster outside of it and was alone for over 2 months and never got attacked. Then I joined up with another active group that stated they do group defends. They did some, but I was never apart of one. Then I joined another large alliance and they are doing the fleetsave thing again, but since a few of my friends are in it I am staying, but I do offer to those members around me that I will help defend.

I have not helped attack or defend as of yet and have attacked many players with large fleets and destroyed them to rise in rank faster. So I don't think that a player needs to be in an alliance to play effectivly and they can do rather well without one. But if you like to talk to others then join up with one.
