What's the deal ARNC?
« on: May 26, 2011, 06:29:24 PM »
I've got it level 1 and 2 research labs at level 10 and still can't research at multiple bases?

Does it have to be at level 2 to research at multiple bases?

your arc does not allow you to do multi researches but decreases the time according to your arc and lab levels  accordingly .

 Don't feel bad.. thought the same thing at first.. ArcNet ties your research labs together to form one large virtual lab... example.. 2 level 10's arc 1 is equivalent to one level 20 lab..

You still can only research one thing at a time, but those times decreases... it's still a good investment and you're doing fine..

each level of arcnet allows you to add effective lab levels. it doesnt allow you to research multiple things though

if you have arcnet-1 and 2 level 10 labs, you effectively have a level 20 lab

As posted. You can never have more than one research going. (You also can't research and build labs at the same time, even on different planets, so it's a good idea to build your labs on several planets all at once.)

ARC simply adds X number of other planets' labs to your "active planet"'s lab as phantom extra lab levels to decrease research time. X is a number equal to your ARC level; however only labs at or above the minimum level for that tech will be added. (If you have all labs at 10+ you don't have to worry about that last bit.)

So for example if you have ARC 3, it will add your active planet's lab level to your 3 largest labs on other planets... and the sum is the lab level used for the research time calculation. If you have all 10's for example... 10 (active)+10+10+10 = 40, so lab level would be calculated as level 40 in this situation.

The point of it all is that it brings down the time of high end researches without requiring you to spend ridiculous amounts of res and fields to build a level 25+ lab on a single planet.....

Other than a gameplay reason, I've never understood why you can't do research at two labs at once.  I mean, do the scientists at all the other labs just eat popcorn and watch the research going on via television?

well you forget what it is like without it.

warp 12 in a lvl 12 lab 5100hours+

in the time you could have 3 high lvl projects researching i can research them and the next lvl well before you have reached the halfway point on yours.

Yeah, I wouldn't want just one lab working on anything.

I have arc6 and all level 12 labs, any research project I start takes longer than the time between haircuts. (and Im bald). I couldnt imagine working off one lab so am grateful for the arcnet and will be going to 7 soon as i can afford it.
