well, the normal rule applies (i think) which is 10% - 1000% of your own RSP

I believe the standard RSP you have to acquire in any universe these days before attacking or being attacked however is 1,000

Yes, the building rsp which actually did not change. The leader board changed to rsp for fleet, def and research.

Total RSP is supposed to be the sum of building, fleet, def, and research.  (I haven't actually created an account yet.)  Total RSP may not be reported separately, but that's what newbie protection is supposed to be based on.

From 1000 to 250,000 TOTAL RSP you can attack players with 20% to 500% of your TOTAL RSP. After 250,000 TOTAL RSP you can attack or be attacked by anyone with more than 250,000 TOTAL RSP.

Building is Building RSP.

Total is the sum of Building, Ships, Defenses, and Research.

Then something is a bit wrong I think Matt.

I currently have an Overall point amount (Overall being the sum of Building, Fleet, Defenses, & Research, as you said it was) of 1,751 as of the Leaderboard update not long ago. Yet, only now have I received the automatic email from BFG warning that I will soon be out of the first Newbie protection and attackable by others (not that I am out yet).

Have a Building RSP point value of 837, Fleet of 422, Research of 438, and Defense of 42; all of which adds up to 1,739. I am guessing Droids are the extra 12 points seemingly coming out of nowhere.

However, as you can see, this is over the 1,000 Total you have stated by a good bit already. So it seems there is a problem, like the maybe game itself is still checking the Building RSP category (former RSP-only spot) when it should look at Overall RSP now.

It is based on building rsp, not overall rsp. Overall rsp is only used for ranking. Overall rsp will always be twice the total of def, research and fleet rsp PLUS rsp for droids and dsp. In all other unis it is a little different in that it is units of def, fleet and research instead of rsp.

+1 that newbie is based on "Building" not overall.   That's when I passed out of newbie.  So has everyone in my alliance.   BUILDING at 1000 is the dividing line.   Not overall.   And there is no "total" category, Matt.

Hirajim, thank you very much. All I needed to know is what number in what column.
