eradeon for dummies
« on: July 02, 2015, 07:57:33 PM »
Can someone explain how to use it. Have not played a universe with it before. Tips, tricks, warnings? Does it have a max or min?

Thanks in advance

No max or min. Don't upgrade ABM's. Each level you get adds 5% to base in aws, drive, and cargo.

I typically start with levelling Atlas and Poseidon. Poseidon will let you hit them faster than other people. And upgrading the best ROI ship in the game never hurts.

Appreciate the feedback. Since this is extreme speed, eventually it will start requiring merchant  trades to have hydrogen  to hit them, how does the strategy of upgrading only zeus and harvesters pan out?

Im not sure on costs of anything over level 1. Will it become unaffordable for high levels of 1 type of ship?

The cost doubles with every level. Zeus E1 is ~550k E. So level 3 will be 2.2M. It might be hard to get that much early game, but the exponential growth will inevitably make E so easy to get that the only concern in spending it will be the time it takes to upgrade.

The only way to speed up E upgrades is to level up your Shipyard. Foundries and droids and items have absolutely no impact.

Edit: I messed up & said level 4 when it is actually level 3

I should have mentioned this already, but yes levelling up recyclers is incredibly important, no matter what your typical fleet composition is. Not only does it make them quite a bit faster, but it increases the haul they take home. Each E level adds 1k cargo space to each Dionysus. Or 250 to each Zagreus.

Like techs, the benefit increases with your fleet size. 10 Dionysus at E5 will take home an extra 50,000 resources. 1000 Dionysus will take home an extra 5 million. 1000 at E10 will take an extra 10 million, for a total of 30 million. Basically saves you building 500 Dionysus for every thousand.

Also note that NPCs give you E, but they don't use it. If your fleet has aws of 12, but also has E10, then you effectively have aws of 23. While the NPC that spawns off you will be aws 12. It won't give you a advantage over players who also collect E, but it will over those who don't. And it will make NPCs much easier to kill.

that is stupid as hell the amount of eradeon you get is determined by the amount of ships you send a single probe would get you nothing

especially as it has a zero attack rating

not THAT stupid. There was a bug when Hired guns started and Eradeon plunder wasnt proportional to RSP fleet. You could probe ride a friends and get 50% of the eradeon.

It's been fixed for months already, if not a year but people in this game don't learn very fast.
