Tournament 2019
« on: January 08, 2019, 03:20:20 AM »
Organizing another tournament. Rage/Blitz and Pilgrims are a firm yes, Pug and Legacy are curious and if they like terms of wars they will sign on. Swarm and Cold are also conditional Yes. I am waiting for a few more responses before I start a large in game group chat with alliance leadership to set terms.

An official war can be monitored by bfg but will also be governed by the games rules for waring except a few possible tweaks

An unofficial war can potentially adapt to how the players want to war but may require an external score keeper because bfg may be unable to monitor it so a very simple scoring idea may be needed

Maybe all battle reports could be posted in a new message boards thread by an administrator when proven

this idea is great, but I question where BFG can subport in that Jason only handles support tickets and with matt h now working in retail and only does this as a hobby. based on past history we should have had a new univ for easter so I wonder how long the games here will continue

Tournaments are an agreement between participating alliances to battle it out under certain pre-set terms. BFG has nothing to do with it, I honestly haven't even asked Matt or Jason to provide credits this time as a prize, last tournament I couldn't convince Matt out of very much, don't get me wrong I appreciate that they have been willing to provide incentives before.

1) 5 active at all times (out of dmode at all times who are not in pmode) to eliminate the need for a plag rule.

2) points set to maximum which is 1 trillion

3) free for all (this means all participating alliances are targets)

4) when you win a war you will send a new declaration immediately, the losing alliance has up to 24 hrs to accept (this allows the losing alliance to make sure their players are ok, if able to accept the accept don't drag this out please)

5) we will be going each of the 2 rounds for 21 days each round, if you win a war redeclare war and adjust as needed with a short 7 day pause between the 2 rounds. If both finalists want to go at it immediately I am fine with that.

6) in the unlikely even I end up having to leave to go fight a wildland fire during the tournament MrEdward Hyde is named as my tournament second in charge, he will notify everyone if that happens.

7) we will be civilized to each other, we don't want our rivalries to get out of hand because we are all passionate about our home teams. :)

8)Last day to have all of our participants in the tournament is day before each round starts.
So let's kick the tournament off on Monday May 13 @ 10am Eastern Time zone USA.
Last day to enter team mates into alliances is May 12 mother's day. Basically give everyone 24 hrs to know who the targets are. We can plan as much as we want, we all mostly know each other's teams.

Round 1 ends June 3 2019 @ 10 am Eastern Time zone.

Matt Hirschfelt of BFG has agreed to offer up prize pool of 500k credits to be split among the winning team, John Fury of Rage has offered up 300k credits to this effect as well, so far the total prize pool will be a split of 800k credits.

Cold is struggling to assemble a team...

Pilgrims, Swarm and Blitz are ready, Blitz even has our membership starting to toggle out of dmode and I'm seeing Pilgrims out who I haven't seen out of dmode in a long time.

In advance good luck to all teams, we kick off Monday morning USA 10am eastern time, who will draw first blood? The anticipation mounts as the teams start to assemble together.

Rules amendment:
Since we only have 3 alliances there will be only 1 round, and 4 weeks of warfare, alliance with most wins will be declared the winner.

Updates regarding the tournament will come from Mr Edward Hyde, I quit and am in vacation mode for the foreseeable future, thank you everyone for the memories, I have too much in life to deal with right now than to worry about an online game.
