It seems to me that a lot of people who build them end up quitting the game soon thereafter, not saying this is a hard rule, but it seems like people build it as one final obstacle and then lose interest. for the cost of one Zeus I can build a hundred Hades and still have change, the Hades are definitely gonna do me more good attack wise so I say forget the Zeus about all I can see if being really good for is busting turtle inactives.

I'd definitely say there is a strong correlation that's beginning to appear.

Zeus have their use, but it's very limited without moons or the any accounts capability to produce 10 or so Zeus a week.

There are much easier ways to get 10,000 DS points than killing a Zeus for it.

10,000 Hermes killed is an even more rare accomplishment I'd say :P

Zeus classes aren't as useless as you all seem to be giving them credit for.

Due to their slow speed, they can be used for long fleetsaves, as they slow down the entire fleet.

Whilst one Zeus defending is an easy enough target - two or three is another story. The sheer firepower of two or three Zeus classes unleasing rapid fire (combined with planetary defences: ++ PTs anyone?) will keep just about anyone away.
(Disclaimer: Not determined attackers. In another game starfleet seems to be based off, my alliance partnered with another to take out a player who had 120 Death Stars (Zeus Class) and hundreds of PTs on his planets and moons. Some 2,000 IPMs and attacks involving thousands of ships later, we had reduced the player from tens/hundreds of millions of points, to almost nothing. If it wasn't for his mines, he would have been back into 'noobie' protection. :P)

If this game continues to follow the trend of above mentioned game, then when moons are introduced, Zeus classes will be able to outright *destroy* a moon. And considering a 'moonshot' on said game takes some 1,200 Light Fighers (Artemis Class), losing a moon is quite painfull.

Ok, so they can help me fleetsave, or be defense that I don't need as long as I fleet save? Oh yeah, definitely worth the millions that you spend on them. When we get moons, we can talk Zeus value, until then they are simply not worth it.

Killing 1 Zeus is actually pretty easy, if there is no fodder (like the one I'm currently hunting), it's the easiest 10,000 DSP's you could ask for. Only if you have a fleet that can take it down though.

No, the easiest is definitely Hercules. They are worth a fair amount each and can't fight back...

I attacked a single Zeus that wasn't protected by any fodder with my entire fleet. The battle took only 2 rounds and I lost well over 80 ships with only 59 being fodder. I lost over 2.3 million OCH from my ships being destroyed. Definatly worth the millions of OCH for one.
