poeticmotion[ODB]+SYG [ODB] vs rickyserver [s7] 9.5 mil DF
« on: November 12, 2010, 03:48:42 AM »
Another day here at the ODB Office of Public Education, another battle report from the dream team of poeticmotion and SYG.

ODB is not only about caring, it's about education. We want to teach you, educate you, help you understand the universe. We want you to understand that even though we're better than you, that's no reason to feel bad about yourself; everyone has a role to play in the universe. If your role in the universe is to suck, well, embrace that role with all your heart, it's nothing to be ashamed of. If your role is to serve as the latest example in ODB's series of educational fleetcrashes, well, hold your head up high and realize your incompetence has been exposed by the best.

As part of ODB's continuing effort to educate the masses, we want to demonstrate a wide variety of fleetcrashes. Our last lesson was about profit. ( http://http://forum.playstarfleet.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=10873 ) Today's lesson was about one simple thing. Breaking things.  A lot of things. Almost 28k DSP between us. :D

So, universe 2, just keep doing what you do. Build those ships. Farm those farms. Tech up, work on your mines and build your turtle shells. We're still working on our backlog of folks that need visits from our "Education Advisors"; finding highly qualified teachers is tough to do. We're doing our best to catch up, but  some of you will just have to wait patiently. Don't worry, you'll have the chance to be featured in one of our lessons soon.

Anyway, we've been trying to catch this guy for over a month. Baby turtle developing (although the guy doesn't understand defensive fodder...17 plasmas and only 560 fodder defenses), plus a really nice fleet. We were still working on mines, and since we got our fleets big enough to take him, he'd been fleetsaving better. Plus he's got ridiculously high espionage tech. I got intercepted every time I probed him, and SYG wasn't able to get his techs with better esp than I had.  But, high esp tech is no substitute for proper fleetsaving. As we proved.

poeticmotion led an attack on rickyserver at A.I [x:xxx:x].
The following emerged from battle after 6 rounds:

Plasma: 0  (Lost: 17)
** Ship Resources lost: 13,557,000 ore, 11,098,500 crystal, and 3,073,500 hydrogen.
** Total Resources lost: 15,589,000 ore, 12,042,500 crystal, and 3,583,500 hydrogen.
** Destroyed Ship Points Gained: 7,358

The attacking side acquired 368,424 ore, 14,933 crystal, and 280,106 hydrogen.
Some of the enemy's defenses were rebuilt.
5,642,700 ore and 3,905,850 crystal are now floating at this location.
There was a 20.0% chance that a moon would form from the debris.
A new moon did form from the wreckage.

So we gave another moon, but we got 28k DSP. Total damage: 30 million plus. Total income: Just a hair under 10 million in debris and plunder. Profit: 759124 ore 1999774 crystal. Mockery of rickyserver's fleetsaving incompetence in the alliance chat: 1500 words and still continuing as we speak.

Last note: If SYG ever tries to quit SFC, I'm kidnapping her and making her stay. She and I kill more stuff than any hunting group I've had since the golden days of Babe, Elvis and I tearing up X with our UF6X tradition of "morning attack time". I think we're making her husband jealous.

Rob Ross tastic - that might be the finest compliment I've ever received on a battle report.

Since Rob retired from uni 2 to focus on uni 1, we here at ODB try to honor his memory by asking ourselves constantly "What Would Rob Ross Do?" We're even getting ourselves special wristbands made up. If a situation comes up that I can't reason my way through with that question, I ask myself what 2$Bill would do, but fortunately for me and all I come in contact with, that's a rare occurence.
