This post will detail how the ability to move planets will be introduced, and the compression plan for Starfleet Commander Extreme.
The first step is that the ability to move planets will go live on Tuesday, May 24th, at 14:00:00 server time. In order to alleviate potential server issues, 10% of the players (selected randomly) will gain the ability each hour until all the players have the ability at 23:00:00. Each planet will be able to be moved one time (for free) during the period between when the planet moving goes live, and when the compression occurs the following week on Tuesday, May 31st, at 14:00:00 server time. If the planet has a moon, the moon will move as well.
Once a planet has moved, ships on this planet (or the moon with it) will be unable to attack, deploy, group defend, or join on a colonization mission for 24 hours.
The game will be compressed to galaxies 1-6, and immediately after the compression, Galaxies 7-9 will become available.
When the compression occurs on May 31st, at 14:00:00, any planets that are in Galaxies 7-20 will be assigned a new spot at random somewhere in Galaxies 1-6. And any outbound fleet tasks will simply be canceled when this happens.
