You Know You Play To Much SC When...
« on: December 02, 2009, 06:22:45 PM »
1: You are currently attending a college.

2: You can perform the complex mathematics of battles in your head, but you could never do it on a test.

3: You spend more than 3 hours a day on facebook.

4: You've invited everyone you've ever known to join your crew.

5: You set your alarm clock for the time when your fleet gets back.

6: You seriously debate weather its worth staying up an extra hour just to relaunch those recyclers.

7: You've looked at a friend's house and wondered how much ore it'd take to make.

8: You actually understand the distance formula...

9: You spend a good hour a day or so looking at espionage reports.

10: You actually read the message boards.

11: You get excited/scared whenever the big red ! appears above your planet.

12: If people had a * above their name, you'd ignore them.

13: You only take half of anything sitting out in the open.

14: You've fought real life traffic to get back home before your fleet does.

15: You've mentally calculated how much your mines will make while your offline.

16: You constantly search for crystal.

17: You've actually done the surveys, and have fallen in love with Peanut labs.

18: You've gained whole new levels of respect for Engineers and Geologists.

19: You've spent time thinking about how Warp Driven ships have a lower base speed than Pulse driven ones.

20: You have one of the requirements for a zeus class.

21: You have a "hit list" of inactives who generate a lot of resources per day.

22: You spend vast amounts of time talking to friends during facebook chat, it makes the attack time seem shorter.

23: You consider the art form that is fleetsaving to be Gospel.

24: You've debated the merits of building Artemis classes vs Apollo classes as fodder for over 2 hours.

25: You think "He should have resourcesaved/fleetsave" whenever you see a burglerly on TV.

26: You can convert resources in your head.

27: You get really excited when you see the (1) appear in the alliance thread.

28: You get really mad when you lose a ship that your sim of choice says you shouldn't have.

29: You've spent more than 1 hour total looking up good names for your planets.

30: You've seriously debated the merits of building a Zeus.

Feel free to submit your own.

Hey, I don't get it at all...and I've actually spent quite a while trying to figure it out...and failed miserably...now I just rely on the game to do it for me.

Edit: One more...
You actually understand the message board posting system.

You have gone up in rank by 1000 points from 3000 to 2000 in the past 5 days.
I go up at least ~2400 points a day because that's how much my mines produce in resources ^^

You excuse yourself from dinner at a fancy restaurant to run to the restroom in order to check for attacks on your phone so your wife won't see what you're doing and get mad at you.

1: You are currently attending a college.
-- And failing all my classes because I play this game instead of doing HW.. or going to class... etc. etc.

2: You can perform the complex mathematics of battles in your head, but you could never do it on a test.
-- Can do Both

3: You spend more than 3 hours a day on facebook.
-- I assume you meant 15, right ;P

4: You've invited everyone you've ever known to join your crew.
-- How else was I going to get 42 crew points and fill every building with human workers?

5: You set your alarm clock for the time when your fleet gets back.
-- The game is my alarm clock.. 4am = daily mission time

6: You seriously debate weather its worth staying up an extra hour just to relaunch those recyclers.
-- You don't? (I assume this applies to defend from enemy invaders mission)

7: You've looked at a friend's house and wondered how much ore it'd take to make.
-- Not to that point yet, can still see how to climb buildings though.. damn Assassins Creed

8: You actually understand the distance formula...
-- Matt is right.. you'd have to be bonkers for this one.

9: You spend a good hour a day or so looking at espionage reports.
-- Is this a bad thing?

10: You actually read the message boards.
-- What else am I going to do waiting for missions to complete.....

11: You get excited/scared whenever the big red ! appears above your planet.
-- The chance to pummel someone into the ground... heck yeh

12: If people had a * above their name, you'd ignore them.
-- I think I'd be more scared, honestly

13: You only take half of anything sitting out in the open.
-- I'd have to leave my computer for that.

14: You've fought real life traffic to get back home before your fleet does.
-- Same as 13

15: You've mentally calculated how much your mines will make while your offline.   ---you're*****
-- How does that take any effort at all?

16: You constantly search for crystal.
-- Who doesn't?

17: You've actually done the surveys, and have fallen in love with Peanut labs.
-- I try.. they're too picky though.

18: You've gained whole new levels of respect for Engineers and Geologists.
-- N/A

19: You've spent time thinking about how Warp Driven ships have a lower base speed than Pulse driven ones.
-- And bugged Matt and others about the foolishness and severe lack of sense it makes!

20: You have one of the requirements for a zeus class.
-- I wish

21: You have a "hit list" of inactives who generate a lot of resources per day.
-- I wish

22: You spend vast amounts of time talking to friends during facebook chat, it makes the attack time seem shorter.
-- Does IRC/AIM/MSN count?

23: You consider the art form that is fleetsaving to be Gospel.
-- Never had to fleetsave.. people cower in fear of my army ;P

24: You've debated the merits of building Artemis classes vs Apollo classes as fodder for over 2 hours.
-- Didn't think Apollo's were good fodder....

25: You think "He should have resourcesaved/fleetsave" whenever you see a burglerly on TV.
-- You have time to watch TV?? WTF

26: You can convert resources in your head.
-- Again... not hard

27: You get really excited when you see the (1) appear in the alliance thread.
-- I like to help my alliance, is that a bad thing?

28: You get really mad when you lose a ship that your sim of choice says you shouldn't have.
-- Sim.. you mean your brain doesn't count?

29: You've spent more than 1 hour total looking up good names for your planets.
-- They come to me on the fly.. :D

30: You've seriously debated the merits of building a Zeus.
-- 2 per planet!! Hell yeh~~

The following are all true.. can I get a gold medal for obsession? :)
You go to sleep with your laptop in your bed so when/if you ever wake up you can hit the Start button on your favorite mission. (I have had serious sleep issues as of late... thanks BFG :/ )
You go to great lengths to make the game work on your BlackBerry.
You play the game on the BlackBerry even when walking around or traveling in general so you never miss a mission, even running into people because you're not paying attention.
You have it open in at least one tab in every browser at all times, on all computers you interact with.
You have dreams of what would happen if you attacked player X and they didn't fleet save.

Making 35 Prometheus so I can advance in tech: 2,100,000 Ore, 1,750,000 Crystal, and 525,000 Hydrogen.

Having things to do while I wait out the 117.25 hours for their production: helpful.

Building that first level of Foundry afterwards: oops

This is my beer. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I miss good sci-fi TV shows with epic space battles (Babylon 5, Battlstar), why won\'t they come back?...

When a mini fleetsave is the highlight of your day.

Staring blankly at the screen wondering what to do next when suddenly...

An incoming probe shows up on your fleet list, so you pop over to the planet and do a quick fleet/resource save just to be annoying :)

Its completely obvious cause, um theres nothing there, less than 100 resources and no ships!

Your wife/husband devorcies you because you spend too much time on SF....
and when the attorney asks what you would like to have in the settlement you ask for the computer so you can play SF.

You have a SF symbol for a tatoo.

You try to emulate you most liked SciFi show by labeling you planets after characters, planets, or ships mentioned in the show.

You try to apply real life mathmatics and scenarios to the game.

You have no more empathy for those who complain or don't fleetsave.

Thanks Admiral Follett. Quite the few good laughs. Some brought tears to my eyes. Like the one with wife at restaurant. Not guilty of that one but many others. Knew there is an issue when setting alarm for 4:30 one Sunday morning cause fleets coming back that time for some reason. Wife gave me rough time. But hey gotta take care ot the galatic empire. LOL   Great game, makes ya think.
