There was never much point to oracle immunity versus missions or at least not after NPC's came out
Everything I say is likely a couple of years out of date

Not really ever a point. I remember seeing people do missions in X and chuckling, but then moving on to find a real target. The biggest mission uses a mere 18 or so capital ships. Most people who could do it, and would do it, had too much d to make a lock profitable.

I'd agree the res was never worth it but that didn't really stop people until there was something that could supplant them.  It was also only the very long missions that could really be oracled

when I was playing a few years ago, there were a few players in x1 that were discovered to be running 'auto-missions' and 'auto transports'.
This was discovered by use of an oracle.
while it is against the rules, bfg doesn't want to hear about it, therefore, they just went ahead and made it immune.
