Is there no way to utilize Construction on an Alien Space Dock? Won't that make ALL of the alien ships obsolete pretty soon?

This.  Not that I had unlocked Construction yet, but I was certainly wondering it.

Suggestion
Quick and decent fix, put a construction that only works on the docks on the docks.

By the way, what does Construction actually cost to build?

Just a FYI.

If you are deploying ships from a territory and forget they are still in flight. If you abandon the territory you will loose 100 ships.  You will then start getting snippy emails from the pilots about being lost in hyperspace.  You can try explaining to them that their is not a way  to recover from a bad hyperspace jump but then they will just keep whining .

Yeah, I hate that.  Always make sure there's a cyanide pill in the cockpit of every ship at dispatch.

Would be fun if you made a bonehead move the game would taunt you.

If you take a territory with defenses do you take control of the rebuilt defenses? What happens to defenses if you abandon a territory?

My understanding is that defenses are temporary and they go away, like ships and droids, when you lose the territory.  If you want defenses on a territory you have to build them from scratch every time.  Only the resources are capturable and of course the Shipyard and Missile Silo (building) are permanent to the planet.

Just realized I could click on the link in the Tech tree.  Answer:  2M 1M 200K, like Foundry 2.

Am I "misunderstimating" how territories work?

I thought if I successfully attacked a territory held by Hostile Force #0 and I prevailed then I got the territory. And yet after this:

Date: 2013-12-12 15:04:18 UTC
In the attack from Some Planet on Advanced Factory ‎[‎Somewhere Else]:

There was no battle because the defender had no ships or defenses.

The attacking side acquired 437 ore and 225 crystal.
The attacking side did not acquire any Eradeon.

Tachyon Pulse (ATTACKER) lost 0 RSP and gained 0 DSP. (more)
Hostile force (DEFENDER) lost 0 RSP and gained 0 DSP. (more)

I did not get awarded the territory. Did I not do this right? Thanks for any advice.

Do you already hold a territory from that planet? If so, you cannot hold a second territory from the same planet.
