You mentioned npcs that spawn for you. How do you know which npc spawns off your rsp configuration?

Hi, red,

For many people, it might not be easy to determine which NPCs are your spawns, particularly if there are a number of people near you with similar RSPs levels.  One way to get an idea as to which ones "might" be yours is to run the SolarSystemSummary eljer script.  That script adds an "NPC severity level" number to each NPC you run across on the Galaxy page.  Self-spawned NPCs will have severity levels of around 220 to 280 or so.  A "perfect fit" is a severity level of 255.

If you don't run the eljer script, you can use the NPC's color as a guide.  NPCs that range from very light pink, to white, to very light green correlate to your size.  Those will be the ones with the above-indicated severity levels.  The eljer script calcs the severity levels using the color values of NPCs.  Those color values are relative to the person who currently is scanning.  That is, they aren't absolute values.  What is a white NPC to me might be flaming red to someone else.

Admiral,
Thank you for the feedback. I was unaware of the script.  A lot of shades of those 3 colors in my experience have varied from ones I like to attack. Maybe I will try that script today.
Kru,
Thanks for response. One day I might get 2 npc transmissions and seems like I can go a whole month without getting a message.

yep i know the pain....

just remember, the script you need is the solar system summary, and bear in mind, as your RSP grows their ranks change (although the RSP on them doesn't)

So, one that you may look at in regards to rank and think 'it's not worth it' actually, would still be worth it....

But, the script does save you from endless probing of every NPC you see

You can spawn targets up to 100 systems either side of your system. ATW and I are both in he same Galaxy, spawns from him tend to rank on the script in the teens for me so I have seen the spread and know the 100 system range to be true. I tend to find that right size targets of your own are around the 255 area when you can find them (which is not today) and that it should be possible to take on two at a time

Just a note...there are apparently virtually no more fleets without at least a couple hundred Proms, and a lot have Zeus. I kind of miss the attacks with no losses.

I had a 38 mill dsp with no defenses that cut down losses.

Did somebody break the NPC's again? Or are they all sitting around a table stuffing their faces with Krug turkey?

Hi, kangar,

I'm assuming that your comment relates to the huge numbers of Z's that we are seeing on the targets -- like, 4x - 5x the number that we have ever seen before?

Targets of 35m DSP, usually have say 1,000 Zeus tops, currently seeing them with over 7,000. Unhittable, smaller targets just a waste of hydro, the returns are crap for what they cost to send the fleet.

That, and they were quite scarce at all yesterday. Things seem to have improved a bit today.

Lately I have been finding a lot of either too big or too small NPCs so have been just launching small fleets at the too small ones, and dreaming about the too big ones.
