You absolutely can. You just need to time it to land after its been accepted. All wars are suppose to start at 8:01pm but sometimes they are delayed by a few minutes

Here are the basics -

The following Tactics will lead to a Forfeit:
        a.   Resource Dumping;
        b.   Tag Dropping while under attack;
        c.   Unwelcome group defend (Clarified further down); and
        d.   Bribing Alliance players to take a dive; (added it at the request of several players).
                  i.   *Note: Someone being accused of bribing is not automatically in the wrong.  Proof needs to be presented to all Alliance leaders.  Once the proof is examined a ruling will be made. In the event of a tie an impartial judge will make the final ruling. Judge is TBD but someone not involved in the tournament.

Unwelcome group Defend
If the joiner is from a different alliance in the tournament then:
•   That person's alliance will forfeit all of their Round Robin wars OR forfeits their round they are in.
•   The Battle will be recalculated to determine the points that should have been awarded using Battlementat. Unfortunately it will then be on those 2 fighting alliance leaders to keep track of their points manually. The war continues until one side acquires enough points to win outright
•   If the Battle would have resulted in a victory for either side then the losing side will surrender to grant victory to the winning alliance.
If the joiner is from a different alliance not in the tournament then:
•   The Battle will be recalculated to determine the points that should have be awarded using Battlementat. Unfortunately it will then be on those 2 fighting alliance leaders to keep track of their points manually. The war continues until one side acquires enough points to win outright.
•   If the Battle would have resulted in a victory for either side then the losing side will surrender to grant victory to the winning alliance.
•   Alliance leaders are responsible for conveying & emphasizing this rule and the consequences if it’s violated. Alliance leaders needing Clarification are to contact Scott Antichow or Vashanka via PM here on the boards.

And how long do alliances get to assemble a team? Maybe you should add that people cannot join in last 12 hours as its like bending the rules to try to get unfair advantage.

Well I'm not sure how people could gain an advantage by joining right before the start but I'm willing to add a rule that nobody is allowed to join the tournament unless approved by all alliances.

Would that work for you all?

Good news regarding the 10. In regards to the locations, wouldn't you have it shortly there after?
