Surveys from hell
« on: December 27, 2009, 03:23:30 AM »
Just tried to take a consumer survey. First preliminary question was asking if I would be buying anything from a list. I would actually be buying all the products in the next month or so, so I checked all of them. I got disqualified for not meeting the "requirements".

I think I've it figured out. The preliminary questions and some of the first questions of the actual survey ARE the survey, and you get disqualified after several questions so you get zero credits.

Does anyone else here find it impossible to finish the surveys? I've tried to do probably 20 or so and have never got past question 5...

The first few questions are to determine your demographics. Depending on whether you fit the profile they are looking for, you may or may not be able to take the rest of the survey. This really only applies to the specifically highlighted in blue surveys by Peanut Labs.

The rest of the "surveys" are offers mostly looking for cell numbers, email addresses and credit card numbers :/

I've taken several of the surveys and spent the credits. I had an issue for a while where Peanut Labs was seeing the wrong zip code for me. If you lie in those first questions, they'll stop the survey. Your age, gender, zip, etc has to match what they have. After a week or so, my zip started showing up right again and I could take the surveys again. Never did figure out why they thought my zip was different for a while there...

I love how they tell you that you'll get 25,000 credits, then age, sex, zip code later your done with only getting 100. About 9 out of 10 time this is what happens to me. Am I to old? to young? wrong sex? or just live in the wrong part of town? I don't know.

I've had a number of surveys disqualify me, and just a large a number work for me. Sure you might be buying all of those products in the near future, but you need to also realize, if they are doing a survey on 5,000 people for example, they want the people to be spread out, not all 5,000 from the same city / zip code. Due to that, there is a hard cap on a lot of the surveys on how many people from each area will be eligible for the survey

I'm currently just doing the "submit your email, click a confirmation link, (accept spam), credits!" surveys, not too much in them, but I don't want ink-and-paper mail flooding me

I keep a few disposable e-mail addresses for just this sort of thing and never use my main e-mail address.

I do too, but I guess the survey companies only accept the email you signed up for facebook with. I tried multiple different email accounts, but never received the confirmation link until I tried using my real email address, and then I started getting credits.

I love the ones that ask you questions like "pick a color" for a movie survey, and then tell you you are disqualified
