Wiki Usage
« on: February 15, 2010, 03:49:57 AM »
Just out of curiosity. A few others and myself will take the time to browse through the recently changed pages to make sure nothing bad is going on. As of now, the wiki has been visited at least 1,049,251 times. Of course, quite a few of those hits were from myself.

Two main questions:

1) Have you ever looked at the wiki?
2) Do you have at least basic wiki editing skills?

I use the wiki very often, but unfortunately, I am not familiar with editing a wiki.  I would love to be far more comfortable editting though.

I go thru the wiki often.  But, I have a form of dyslexia that really messes with my head when reading things.  Flat pack instructions, regulations even the wiki was like brain surgery at first.  But through help from my alliance, TRA, with various explanations of the same theme have helped it make sense.  As such, those sad little comments that were thrown all too readily at some of our Noobs about reading the wiki, would usually result in either a pm from me to the noob in question or from me to the one knocking the noob for not knowing things they now take for granted.

I think it's a great feature and very helpful that developers put it in as a game link.

I mostly use it for planning which techs to develop and to learn about things like resource saving/stacking figures.  I use it more than the "Techs" tab because it's detailed on resources for future levels and ship costs.

Not only that but I do learn from it as far as developing defenses.  I have only been playing 2-3 weeks so I still use it daily.
