Resource/Terraforming Question
« on: February 27, 2010, 09:04:40 PM »
Will Terraforming increase the temp and output of a planet? My starting planet is not great, 160 fields, and produces OK, but my Colony doesn't produce anywhere near the resources (about a 10th), but only has 100 fields. Granted mining levels are not as high on the COlony, but still?  :?: Thank you.

Teraforming will only increase the number of fields on a planet. But there's a much better way to do that. Abandon it and send another colony ship. Every time you colonise, the field count is randomised. The more fields you have, the more you can build.
The temp is stale, it depends on how close to the star you are. It cannot be changed. Planet 1 is hottest, planet 15 is coldest. You'd do better to save your credits for an android, in our opinion. And yet, even with a poor field count, you may as well keep the planet until you are maxed out. Drop a couple thousand resources on it to develop it and it'll be pumping out vast amounts of crystal, hydrogen, and ore in no time. Abandon it when you are ready to begin hunting for huge planetary field counts, and can afford to do so with ease.
