New message layout
« on: October 29, 2009, 06:12:39 PM »
Nice one
Nifty little update.
Are there any plans to be able to move older messages into the new relavent categories.
I'd like to move battle reports especially as they are good for reference.

(\'Retired\' is too nice a term; how about, Quit? Why? Oh I don\'t know, maybe because the PvP interaction rules are obnoxiously selected, variably defined, capriciously enforced and altogether unreasonable... anyone? anyone?)

New Features 10/29

New Fleets Page: Now much faster. Updates on times and hydrogen costs should be instantaneous when changing fleets, speeds, destinations, etc.

Now you can play outside of Facebook! Set up a password in your options page at the bottom of the app. Then go to http://fb.playstarfleet.com and you can log in with that.

New messaging: now messages are sorted into folders. You can see how many of each type of message you have, and view past messages you sent to others. They've also been paginated to decrease loading times for those of you who like to store them indefinitely.

The speed of the fleets page actually threw me off for a moment! When you click the %speed the display on time it will take the fleet to move updates AS YOU SCAN AMONG THE %'s!! I was so used to waiting about 5 to 15 seconds after selecting the % that I sat there and wasted time because the actual value was already there!

Silly me!

Great fix Matt! Thanks a bunch.

Well, for me, as soon as I select my destination (homeworld), the Deploy option is replaced with Attack, and the cargo loading options vanish.
I can manually change the Attack directive to the Transport directive - but this makes a return trip - which I dont want...  just want to deploy - as I have ships on my colony's that I want to send to my homeworld.  Which I cant do at the moment.  Only Attack homeworld, or Transport (which returns them to their departure colony).

But yes - the speed of updating the fuel costs etc... are very much faster!!!  Instant in fact :)

Great new layout devs! It would be great if you could add coordinate to battle reports (like you already have for esp. reports!)

Interesting...

I just tried moving various ships around to various places...

Some colony's allow me to Deploy - while others limit me to Attack and Transport.
HW is limited to Attack and Transport.
